I thought we covered this entirely in another thread, and it was shown that Sport and Track are not the same exhaust settings.
Also, while 3db is technically a doubling of "power," the human ear does not perceive 3dB as doubling in volume. Acoustic energy doubles, but it takes about 10dB for...
Ugh, irritating. Every time I drive over a bump, something is now rattling over there. I checked the glovebox to see if anything was in it that could rattle, but no. It also sounds higher up than that, although it is difficult to pinpoint the location. This started three days ago.
Am I...
I wonder what his opinion is going to be about removing the strut tower brace, or whether he knows yet that it will not clear the blower. The Steeda strut tower brace, a much more robust unit than Ford provides, is currently visible in the engine bay from 2:00 to 2:15
After owning this car for months, I am not a fan of the Sport Mode for my Dark Horse. I assume the programing is the same for other Mustangs. Sport Mode seems to me more to be marketing for buyers than "sporty" driving. You almost cannot cruise part throttle in that mode.
It has to do with...
It does not sound like this is on a racetrack. On a track, I cannot think of a situation where the transmission would drop 2 to 3 gears in the middle of a curve.
So I do not do anything to address it.
Have you been to a track? If not, would you consider looking for an HPDE track day near...
I just realized we are all missing the point - he is talking about 20 inch wheels, not a 20 aspect ratio.
Presumably he means 295R35/20
He ditched his excellent Dark Horse handling package staggered 10.5 and 11, 19 inch wheels and Trofeo RS tires and put on some aftermarket 20 inch combo with...
Is there such a thing as 295/20?
Also, which tire? They are not all the same, as we all know. A 305R30/19 can have vastly different tread width, tire height, and section width even within the same manufacturer, sometimes the same tire in the same size with two different applications, much...
I would recommend the opposite if a buyer was intending to take the car to the track, regardless of what kind of track. I would say get the A10.
Set it in Track Mode (or Drag Mode, depending upon what sort of track) and go for it.
Why didn't Ford ever stick a 351 in the Maverick? It is physically the same size as the 302 that they did use, and was used in a number of other cars during the 70-77 period that the Maverick was produced.
That would have made this a memorable car.
Not the All Seasons, but a number of forum members here have installed the PS4S Michelins on the stock Dark Horse Handling Package wheels, using the same sizes (305 and 315 30/19)and there is no rubbing or impinging in spite of the wider tread as compared to the Pirelli Trofeo RS (probably...
Just an FYI, if this matters to you. By using a wider tire on the same wheel, you are reducing your lateral grip. That tire would handle better on a wider wheel, and a narrower tire would handle better on the same wheel.
There are some Youtube videos floating around testing this very thing...
