Oddly, the A10 ratios are slightly different between the Dark Horse and the GT, too. I am not sure why. Some engineer had a reason for doing it, as those sorts of decisions come with a cost attached, when they could have just used the same transmissions and called it a day.

That is called autocross. There are probably lots more around you if you look. It has been a popular automotive endeavor for decades now.
