I don't know what all these alphabet letter plans are (I think they're employee discounts, right?) but sure, that's a fair counter point.
I personally think MSRP is fair. The consumer gets a reasonable price and the dealer makes their small profit; everyone wins. I'm not interested in haggling...
This sounds nice in theory but doesn't work in practice.
If they ask for ADM and you walk away, they don't care cause they know the next guy to walk up will happily pay ADM. That's how a free market works. There's more demand than supply so prices go up.
I don't like these ADMs either but...
Ok dude.
You asked to add $ per hp/lbs so you made it about "performance bargains."
I was simply reading the data in the charts and the BRZ and C6Z are at the top of both charts.
Everyone and their grandmother knows what performance means but if you want to over analyze this and come up with...
Care to elaborate?
Rotational mass and location on both BRZ and C6Z are great; I don't think anyone believes those cars are not performance bargains.
I'm just providing the info you asked for.
Ask and you shall receive.
Sorted by Dollar per Tire-to-Weight Ratio
Sorted by Dollar per Power-to-Weight Ratio
So looks like a used C6 Z06 or a new BRZ are the most performance per dollar out there whether for cornering or power
I can add Camaro and some offerings from BMW, Merc, Audi.
I didn't include the Challenger cause this is a car comparison. No point throwing boats in the mix.
I'm a nerd, I like numbers and data so here's a fun list of cars and their respective tire, weight, hp, and ratios. It's sorted by tire to weight ratio. You can see just how little tire the Mustang GT gets (and that a stock BRZ has a better tire to weight ratio than a GT500.)
Though I agree with modifying to your own taste, if Ford were to follow this logic, they'd only sell base model GT's and that's it.
You want wider tires? Do it yourself.
You want a 700hp Mustang? Do it yourself.
You want a convertible? F*** you, cut your own damn roof off. (I'm imagining this...
In 2018, when the Performance Pack 2 came out that was essentially a PP1 with 305 tires square, it made me think that's how the PP1 should've come. The fact that the "performance pack" only comes with 255 front tires on a nearly 3900 lb car is a joke.
I've seen that the S650 GT performance pack...
I don't think I have ever heard "Prius" and "track driving" even within neighboring sentences before.
Why not get a regular Civic. That meets your daily driver criteria but there's still a very good aftermarket for them. You can modify it to handle like something way above it's price range.
That would be moving backwards for me. Too many mods in the car now.
Whatever and whenever the next car for me is, it will be under 3400 lbs. That's criteria #1
That's all well and fair but at least for me, a new generational car that only looks different is not enough incentive to warrant upgrading. Again, the S650 is fine but there isn't enough new to make me want to sell my S550.
I suppose I'm asking too much of the Mustang anyhow. The S650 still...
The Mach E is not a Mustang. I will never be convinced otherwise.
Ok, got that out of my system...
I will say, it was almost alarming at how many EV's are coming out now. I'd say easily more than half the LA auto show was full electric.
I don't have anything against EV's directly but as a...
I also went to the LA auto show this past weekend and have to agree; seeing the car in person didn't change my opinion at all. I don't hate the car or even dislike it and I do think the strange rear end is slowly growing on me but I still think the car is a let down.
I'll try to be as...
I'm sure it could but then you'll likely need a stand-alone ECU so right away your total investment shoots way up. Probably easier to build a FA20, put a turbo on it, and have a 400hp 86/BRZ.
Ok, to be fair I don't know the details on all their cars but I know for a fact they don't offer carbon wheels on the new GT4RS and Andreas Preuninger said in an interview they only offered Mag wheels on the upper trim because carbon fails dramatically when damaged. I assume the same for the new...
Ford made the F150 all-aluminum; I was really hoping the S650 would be all-aluminum and shed some serious weight. Other than +20hp and subjective aesthetics, there really isn't much changed on the S650 over the S550. I don't see any reason to buy one if you already have an S550.
