  1. Driving Tips - Manual Transmission

We were always told throughout the years that the more often you’ve got the clutch pedal depressed, the faster the throw-out bearing will wear. So I’ve gotten into a habit of going to neutral when I see red up ahead. This way I use the clutch once, not several times, and then select the gear...
  2. K&N CAI bolt-on installed on 5.0L GT

So on the new cars there are TWO of the MAF sensors that'll get ruined by the oil from the K&N filters now. :) Seriously though, prospective buyers should look at that Project Farm video where he tested air filters. The amount of junk the K&N lets through is exponentially greater than a stock...
  3. Challenger or S650

I’ve had 2 Challengers and several Mustangs. I don’t understand where the misconceptions about the Challengers come from. Mine was like 4100 lbs. The new Mustang GT Premium is what, 3950? That’s pretty damned close. I also had no problems with the handling. My Challengers handled amazing...
  4. Mustang GT (manual) vs. Camaro LT1 (manual)

I’ve seen quite a few videos lately where Camaro SS cars take down 5.0 Mustangs. I really don’t know what to make of it. Of course there are a lot of variables. But I just don’t see how that’s happening. I mean, my car is a ’13 Premium with the MT-82. It’s got a Flowmaster muffler kit and...
  5. Quality is not job One at Flatrock

Well first of all the design of the hood is retarded. That 3-angle corner on each side makes it look terrible and it's also nearly impossible to line it up perfectly with the grille and both fenders. Stupid design on Ford's part. The '24 I looked at when my dealer got it in had wrinkled...
  6. Buyers Remorse on Dark Horse | Car now Scheduled for 22May2023 Built

I would bag up a low mileage Mach 1 instead of a Dark Horse. They're a little stronger on the dyno, more unique, and will hold value better in the future.
  7. S650 slow......what's the truth???

Yes, because a $20k car with $500 bucks in parts trumps a $50k car that runs the same times every day of the week.
  8. 2024 fully loaded Mustang DH is going for more than a 5-year-old C7 Corvette.

Gouging won't stop until people stop paying it.
  9. S650 slow......what's the truth???

I had a feeling they'd be slow. Saw some on the streets at LS Fest last weekend. My '13 GT is Steeda CAI/Tune and mufflers only. I can run with the brand new stuff door to door. It's sad really. But it saves me $50,000 because now I don't want a new Mustang anymore.
  10. Manufacturing defect for ‘24 Mustang Coupes

If you can't see the problem with the leather on those seats, there ain't no point in me circling it.
  11. Manufacturing defect for ‘24 Mustang Coupes

I looked at a '24 convertible in the showroom this morning. First thing that stood out to me was how poorly stitched the leather covers on the seats are. Obvious wrinkling and looseness in both the back and front seats. Unfortunately this shot I grabbed does NOT show the worst part of the...
  12. Been out of the loop, s650 v8 lifespan?

I don't believe they'd invest money to develop a new gen engine for two model years. That would be dumb. We'll see Coyote around for a long time as long as they keep selling well, which they should considering that both major competitors are bowing out.
  13. New NISMO Z Revealed in Drifting Video Ahead of Summer Launch!

The problem with the Z cars is they are just so damned small inside. I'm an average dude, 6'3" with my shoes on and about 224 lbs. and I can barely even get into or out of a Z. They are miserably uncomfortable. I understand it's a sports car and you aren't going to have room for boxes, gear...
  14. Buyers Remorse on Dark Horse | Car now Scheduled for 22May2023 Built

That in fact is the interesting thing about it. The body sheetmetal of the Challenger hasn't changed since 2008. That's fifteen years. And yet they still outsold Mustang and Camaro both up until 2023. To me that proves that Dodge had the perfect formula on those cars. True retro looks...
  15. 0 to 60 and other performance numbers

So the Expensive Horse gets a 20 HP bump, but also more weight. I'd say the standard GT especially with the best optional tires and the A10 trans will be good for the best times. 3.9? Yeah, should be pretty easy to do. 11.9 quarter? It should. The more basic the trim level and options the...
  16. S650 everywhere at the Flat Rock plant! [updated w/ video!]

Looks like yellow is the rarest color so far. Get a yellow one if you want to be different.
  17. Mustang U.S. Retail & Fleet Scheduling Only This Week (6/15/23) - No More Dark Horse Stop Build (Still Constrained)

Ford is a train wreck. The Bronco launch was horrendous. People are going to be waiting for the new Expensive Horse model of Mustang for over a year. Heck, you can't even get a pickup truck. There's a popular YouTube guy who ordered a Super Duty in January and still doesn't have it and they...
  18. Does anyone else despise the warning chimes?

Personally I appreciate the Ford "do do dooo" because it's less annoying than the chimes on all other cars. And since cars MUST have them I'd rather at least have some that aren't as annoying. But, I generally hate ALL safety nannies, so I use these. All dings, warnings, lights, can't shift...
  19. Buyers Remorse on Dark Horse | Car now Scheduled for 22May2023 Built

Three months later my opinion is the same. I keep having that old saying run through my head, "You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig." If I spent that kind of money on a Dark Horse and then had my lunch eaten at a red light by a kid in a $25,000 bolt-on mod ten-year-old GT I...
  20. 2024 Mustang RTR Spec 2 Closeup Walkaround by Town and Country Ford

Yeah the entire front end looks like it was mail ordered out of a JC Whitney catalog.
