The article was released on April 1, April Foolsā Day, but looks genuine. Right-hand drive Mustangs will survive! Manual gearbox fans might be disappointed though, unless the reference was for the Australian market only...
Thereās no such thing as a carbon neutral vehicle. Quite a lot of power is required to produce hydrogen, so all the vehicle does is transfer the emissions from the actual vehicle to the power station that fuels hydrogen production.
The same goes for electric vehicles, and more carbon is emitted...
Wwcr might be an acceleration test. Wwcr gets a mention here: https://itprospt.com/num/15008967/car-accelerating-uniformly-starting-from-rest-accelerates
I would not read too much into the transaxle of the GT3. It will be a bespoke race car built by Multimatic, not Ford. Same as the current GT4 Mustang. BTW, the gearbox for the GT4 is built in my home city here in Australia.
Ford Performance is involved in the homologation of the Supercar...
Australiaās major motoring publishing group has just published an article online. I suppose there is nothing much new in it, but at least it makes for a good summary of current situation: https://www.whichcar.com.au/news/2023-ford-mustang-s650
The article also included a link to this undated...
Good point. Iām not sure if yours was a rhetorical question, but according to Wikipedia page it was March 9.
Maybe it will be released (edit - for sale?) on April 17, the birthday of Mustang as well!
Maybe my school teacher was correct when they said that history repeatā¦
Happy New Year to you too Paul @Twin Turbo
Thanks for all the time and energy you volunteer to keep 7g and 6g ticking over each year. Your devotion to the cause is is exemplary.
Sorry to hear of the ever shrinking options you have in the UK. It makes me all the more grateful for the current...
Autoforecast Solutions are quoted as indicating that we will have to wait until March 2023 for the S650.
See Autoline Daily, text is also halfway down the page here if you donāt want to watch the whole video: http://www.autoline.tv/daily/?p=79050#more-79050
NEXT-GEN MUSTANG COMING IN 2023
OK...
This was released today. Iām not sure how accurate it is, considering the glaring reference to V6 engines in the USA. Anyway, considering itās a slow news day Iāll put it here: https://www.speedcafe.com/torquecafe/coming-soon-2023-ford-mustang/
A report from here in Australia about the 4-door rumour:
https://www.carsguide.com.au/car-news/a-spiritual-ford-falcon-successor-the-on-againoff-again-ford-mustang-sedan-rumours-why
How appropriate it would be to be named a Falcon, if it happens at all, given Mustangās original Falcon...
The forum gets a mention in Australia too. Not sure of the basis of the claim that S650 is all but confirmed for right-hand-drive markets:
https://www.carsguide.com.au/car-news/2023-ford-mustang-to-add-hybrid-power-to-v8-and-four-cylinder-engines-new-s650-series-set
It might be that the S650...
Oh yes, physical buttons please! I would be good to have the central screen in portrait orientation as it makes so much more sense for the navigation system. Love the knob on the Mach-E screen. Not sure portrait would suit the typical Mustang dash layout though, if it was ābuilt-inā.
I am...
The new Supercar Mustangs in Australia will be hybrid ready. The exhaust will exit behind the front wheels to keep the heat away from from the batteries that will be located behind the driver. I donāt know that anything can be read ito it regarding the S650. Ford/Ford Performance has had some...
In the 1970s Ford Australia built 2-door and 4-door Falcon on the same wheelbase, albeit 100mm/4 inches longer than the current Mustang.
Although the Mustang wheelbase is longer than the last of the Cortinas that were considered to be a āfamilyā car, in UK/Europe at least.
Before anyone...
The Falcon name still resonates here in Australia, and New Zealand. The Falcon was our Ford 4-door āMustangā from the 1960s right up until Falcon production was discontinued in 2016. The Ford Performance Vehicles versions were particularly hot.
Ford head office took over the Ford Performance...
I think the new (top) version looks slightly more Mustang, but both look attractive, great work Ace!
I think the leading edge of the bonnet/hood and/or headlamps could be a little lower maybe. Some sort of āpower bulgeā similar to the Australian Ford Falcon/FPV would make the bonnet look a...
Only one more sleep until the big day.
A bit surprising the Mustang NASCAR is not being revealed on the 17th; Ford Australia announced the return of Mustang to Australia/New Zealand tracks on the 17th of April 2018
Could there will be even bigger news revealed, although the pessimist in me...
