Well if you drive it and they didn't fix it there's something else going on I would not chase the problem. But if you drive it and you have no noise or vibration at 7 or 80 miles an hour then there is no issue.
I don't about the Carfax thing.. it's not like it was in a crash. We're talking...
They were chasing a vibration and changing parts out.
Go drive the car. You'll know if it's fixed. Plus you get the same factory warranty (the balance of the 3 years from the time of the original purchase).
If there's no noise or vibration, I'm not sure what the issue would be.
So did this this "hesitation" (for me, it's like you lift off the throttle 50% for a moment around 6500rpms... then the power comes back on) stop after the cam sensor? I was under the impression based on feedback here that 1 of the 2 throttle bodies closed somewhat to limit the TQ into the...
Why does Troy Lee Designs have to do with any of this? Totally irrelevant. The whole thing looks cheap with the silly stickers... Looks like a wannabe hillbilly GT.
Thx... personally... I look at the tiny openings on the grill and am like.. wtf? I get the fleet reduced .cd stuff... but It's a V8 GT. I feel cheated lol.
Small things add up. When I'm at our shop next (I'm not living close to it now) I'll get the car on the rollers for a base line. I'm pretty sure with the open grill, air filters, and carbon traps removed I can get close to 20Hp at the wheels, no other changes. We'll see.
The cfm...
So here's a post (screen shot) from a well known member here. As you can see the difference between a bone stock car with air box lids on vs airbox lids off results in +5rwhp on the dyno. It's not huge I know but that shows you exactly what the GT grill is costing you HP wise. Now combine...
I would have them painted the gloss black that matches the grill now.
I figured I'd ask here. If not, I'll buy a set of these covers (which already extend in somewhat), have them scanned, then modified to extend further in, into the air intake ducting.. and have them 3D printed. If I do that...
486HP requires anywhere between 720cfm-825cfm (depending on the VE). That means you approx 3.5 in² area in the openings minimum (obviously more area is better). And if the car is tuned or modified, the situation gets worse. I haven't measured the grill tiny openings (nor am gonna attempt to...
The only reason Ford would have done this is reduce the CD on the car (which is why they have the louvers that open and close on the main portion of the grill).
It's not a rain thing because the DH's have the grill wide open and w/o moveable louvers.
It's an easy fix. I just don't want to pull...
Watched the video. Should have watched it first.. sorry. I don't want to pull the bumper off the car. If someone produced these just a little deeper into the intake tract, you could easily do it without having to remove anything (call me lazy :-)
Not into the "mesh grill" look. I prefer the OEM grill. Just want to open up the intake tract blockage to achieve a DH style opening. This would allow it to be done easily with minimal labor and still look OEM... at pretty much a trivial cost (and not have to remove the bumper cover).
I'm lazy. I could easily Dremel the sections of the grill out. But if someone 3D printed these or made them so that they extended into the intake tracts by like 1/2" past the intake plumbing... you'd never see the cut marks. Paint them in high gloss black like the OEM grill... you'd easily...
The GT grill, where the intake connects, need to go. I want to Dremel it out, but I don't want it to look crappy.
I saw these on Amazon. I don't care about the carbon look. I want it in high gloss black like the OEM look. But if someone could make a set of these that extended past the...
How many new Ferraris have you owned? I've had several brand new. And they always detail my cars. It doesn't matter what you say or what you think. This is is what they used. And this is what I've used on the s650.
So get off your high horse. I'm just reporting back on what they use...
I got the Saleen throttle controller. It's perfect. Although getting the order from Saleen was somewhat of an ordeal. But as far as the product goes... I love it.
