Perfect timing! I was just about to post asking for advice. I have these in my house but they have a maximum storage temperature of 120 degrees which rules it out for storing in a hot car.

I'm going to take a look at your suggestion.
Thanks!
Good advice. In the engineering world we call this "restore to to a minimum configuration". So in other words, remove all of the parts not needed to bring the system up. Then start troubleshooting. The same idea applies here. If feasible, return the car to stock and start from there. And the...
I have the kit but haven't had the time to install it yet. When I changed my oil for the first time 2 months ago, the belly pan had very few pebbles in it. I suspect the frame will be different. So how do you guys suck the rocks out of the frame? Vacuum with a skinny attachment?
It's easy even for an old coot like me. I can almost guarantee if you take it somewhere else that screws or fasteners will be missing. Use an electric driver or even screwdriver with the appropriate socket and it's easy. Purchase one of those assorted fastener kits on Amazon for a couple of...
Wifey's 24 VW Atlas seems to have a similar issue. Stress cracks are covered but moisture in the enclosure is considered normal and not covered. She has not had an issue yet but others have. Seems to be common.
Those are the ones I purchased. Super high quality and attention to detail like the way they are angled so they don't twist when you jack the car up. My plan is to use floor jack under them and place jack stand with a pad on one of the other pinch welds to support the car.
Where I live R8's are everywhere. So are Lambos, Ferraris, Porsches and I've even seen a Veyron or two . Cyber trucks as well. Not sure how they are insuring those though as in NYS it seems insurance companies are beginning to refuse insuring them. The joke here is you look all primped up...
I went from an 03 GT vert Centennial (basically a badged premium) to my 2024 GT Premium 401a and I love it. The vert was fun, but even living in NY with seasons, as time went on I wasn't opening the top as much as I did initially. I do agree with others who say there is nothing like driving on a...
While adjusting my rear view mirror it literally came off in my hand. Mount, chunks of glass and so forth. Ford denied my warranty claim as well because of the way the service advisor submitted the claim. He stated "mirror RIPPED from windshield" which was completely untrue. I did not see the...
Get yourself a large wooden dowel like 1/2 or 3/4 inch and use that as a transducer to locate noise. Press one end against your ear and the other at various spots, pulleys etc on the engine. Harbor Freight sells a mechanic's stethoscope that does the same thing. It's poorly constructed. My...
So just went through a super nasty T-Storm with torrential downpour rain. FordPass notified me that the security system detected unusual activity and the alarm was triggered. I didn't hear any alarm but I guess it was doing it's stuff. A false alarm due to thunder noise and insane, heavy rain..
For a P26FE DTC, here is what the Shop Manual says.
P26FE:00 Exhaust Flow Control Valve 'A' Control Performance: No Sub Type J: RH TAILPIPE ACTUATOR FAULTS (Electronic Engine Controls - 5.0L 32V TiVCT (359kW/486PS) (WU)/5.0L Ti-VCT
There are several pinpoint tests but I would take a look...
So true. At my local mom pop dealer, the techs and parts guys are EXCELLENT. I would buy parts from them all the time for my 03 GT and got excellent advice on install / tech tips as well. Example, soak and heat the locking bolt for the cross shaft pin in the 8.8 diffy as it tends to snap which...
the last update, ABS I think, messed with my settings. The previous one prior to the Cobra gauges screwed up Car Play and navigation both built in an iPhone. No biggie for me. Reset or input my settings again. I'm always fiddling with settings anyway so it's no big deal to me. I learn...
