You mentioned in your thread that Tier 1 gas is worth it to you for a few more cents more. I posted the article as it supported that reasoning. I'll move on now............
Stay with it. Takes time. I didn't become competitive till after about 4 years progressing through the different levels and even then I continued to learn about the car and the driver. Set a realistic goal each year/season, that'll help motivate you to give it your best.
consider a pyrometer. knowing tire temps is more accurate when setting tire psi.
One would think running half tank of gas or less would be better...less weight....but the opposite is more truthful (lesson learned as I got faster). I always ran full tank...less sloshing, which can cause backend...

I found myself changing the engine oil after 2 weekend events, much easier to do on a S197 than the S650's. Changed the diff oil at beginning of race season and again half way through (8 month season). I'd change engine oils more often if weekends were hot and at big tracks, Road America...
ok, guess I'm not seeing it right. In the pic below, circled in red, is that tube not coming out of the air filter inlet/intake tube and going to the oil separator housing?
There isn't a filter to clean, so to speak. Most kits are 2-piece, canister and top piece that houses a built in filter, along with mounting hardware. The top with built in filter remains in place (attached to mounting hardware) and the canister gets removed to drain oil residue. The J&L kit...
If ur having second thoughts and truly feel u want to keep the Boss, then keep it. Not much worst than buyers remorse and holding onto a Boss is not a bad decision......sometimes owners bond with their cars.
A lot of products today don't have instruction manuals, they have either QR codes or a web address to take you to their site for info. Appears to be the way of the future and I suppose....it saves a few trees.
