I agree totally with you about the cheap look of the faux carbon fiber. I am definitely in the minority that thinks the look of the 650 interior is worse than the 550. I donāt care for the billboard-like screens, lack of symmetry across the dash and for sure the really cheap looking buttons and...
I figured it was OK as the immediate difference in punch and volume was obvious. It really wakes up the whole system, which is great for me as I have no desire to start switching out any of the other speakers or running separate amps. The weak link to me was the soft, bloated bass and this DD...
Itās a dual coil sub, so it has 2 sets of connectors. Iāll be honest, I donāt know much about car audio, so I just cut the connectors, stripped a half inch and put the purple/black on the negative terminals and green/yellow on the positive. I didnāt pay attention to whether it was black/yellow...
Same here. My rig in my house didnāt cost more than the GT, but about half. And I agree that road/tire/wind noise pretty much obliterates any hi-fidelity one may achieve. I use Tidal and it sounds good enough.
I did upgrade the sub to a DD Redline and put in some polyfill and it made a big...
Thanks for the replies. They really should revise the instructions.
Unfortunately I put the bead where they instructed(should have run my fingers through on a dry fit). I did add some of the glue into the tight spots after it was on and it seems pretty solid.
I ordered this and there seems to be a large gap on the bottom where they say to put the adhesive. It seem mostly attached with the double sided tape.
Anyone else experience the same issue?
I definitely disagree with Stangerous on this. IMO, replacing the stock sub with 10ā options from Pioneer or DD makes a huge difference. Stock amp is fine to drive either of these units.
Will it sound better with a dedicated amp- of course. I understand completely the quest to produce...
I just installed the DD Redline 10ā sub and it sounds incredible versus the stock sub. Took about 45 minutes, added a bag of Acousta-Stuf polyfill and the 4 bar grate. Fits right in the enclosure with no trimming needed but I did grind down the 12 oāclock centering tab for an easier fit.
I...
I took them out about 5500 miles ago and honestly canāt report the car feeling any different. I simply wanted to see if it would make a difference. One day Iāll put them back in, they were easy to remove. I still have the stock filters.
No CEL warnings or anything else. IMHO, and Iām no...
Didnāt check that as the OP has a standard GT. I am unsure of how the DH rear end is different. On a side note, Steeda said it wouldnāt fit my GT350 but the IRS braces and the cradle bushings did.
I agree wholeheartedly with the recommendation to install the Steeda āStop the Hopā kit. It makes a very noticeable improvement to the rigidity of the rear subframe and improves handling/composure under power.
