I'm lowered on Sport Progressives for Magneride cars and I've got 20" rims with a 35 sidewall. I spoke with the parts manager when ordering and he said it shouldn't be an issue with any rub. Once you put the supercharger on it's like a net addition of maybe 150lbs on the front max and lowering...
You get a warranty with the Ford Performance Whipple (Stage 1) installed at a Ford dealership.
I'd rather have the engine go through the stress of boost NOW, while it is still in warranty, so it can be fixed at someone elses cost. If something is going to go catostropically wrong it'll do it...
Nice! I actually saw this video the other day as I'm about to go through the same process with my Dark Horse. FP Whipple Stage 1 being installed end of April after the snow melts. Looking forward to it! Used to have that level power in my 21 GT and wanted that in my DH since I plan on keeping...
Well, I didn't actually get to do anything to my Mustang today however I now have both my Dark Horse Model for my computer desk as well as having brought my detail products up to about 99% completition as these finally arrived today.
Still need to get some rinseless stuff that I can take on my...
Having served in both the armed forces and the fire department I can tell you this is absolutely true. Your brothers (and sisters) can rib the hell out of you but woe unto him who tries that stuff outside.
It's like your big brother being allowed to tease and beat up on you a bit but being the...
I've been debating this myself.
I've got a Stage 1 kit going on at the Ford Dealership at end of April. They never mentioned oil pump gears and it's a warranty product.
I've seen guys that get the Stage 2 kit automatically add that to their build list.
Is that the line in the sand? Stage 1 =...
Thanks for this.
It's a loooooooooong trip and I'd rather not hold people up with extra fuel trips. I guess myself and the GT500 could probably roll together for fuel and the other 20 cars go off and do their Naturally Aspirated thing. We will see how it shakes out.
Thanks @kagemusha2662 - I'lll assume that it will be CLOSE to the same. Even if it's only 20-21mpg I can probably do the same fuel stop schedule as the rest of the crew. I am extremely hestitant to bring a 5 gallon VP Fuel jug in the trunk with me for obvious reasons.
Yeah we going through New...
Yeah, if I was staying NA it would be no concern; all our fuel stops would align but alas, the Supercharger bug bit me again on this Mustang too and here we are.
Hey All,
Looking to get an idea on what my DH w/hp and a 6 speed is going to do on the highways in the good old US of A. Driving at the speed limit of course.
CONTEXT:
- Whipple Stage 1 gets installed in April
- Road trip coming up in July. 1000km(ish) / 620(ish) miles) on day 1
- Going with...
See if you can put up a poll. Would help avoid a lot of the "This is better than that" which we have seen 7.2 billion times on these here forums; as well as over at M6G.
Damn, I confess I didn't know Hammond had been going through all this as well. I was watching this video and saw something was off. I wasn'taware of this until you guys mentioned it and then I had to look it up. Tough break.
Agreed. Big Oil isn't going to allow that to happen until the last...
I've also been doing some digging on this as it was an area of concern. According to what Ford Performance told me (with Stage 1 kit)
If you plan to track the car, even one time, best swap those halfs.
If you are street driving, on regular performance tires, and a Stage 1 kit, you should be...
More Go Fast Goodies arrived which completes Beefcake order
Now if UPS could just find the package with the 800 USD worth of Obsessed Garage stuff I'd actually be a happy camper!
I was down for getting a Pro Charger kit this time around. I had the Roush on my 21 GT and thought I would try something different with the Dark Horse. We live in a world where, as mentioned above, things move fast. You snooze, you lose. Whipple Stage 1 is on the way.
Lethal was one of my first choices however shipping and duty on the kit to Canada would be insane!
Buying the kit through the dealership allowed me to bypass all that stuff! However the one drawback is FP doesn’t paint their units.
So some of the parts for this years toys have started to roll in; thanks @beefcake ! The Comp Open Air Box + Filters arrived by FedEx today. The UPR Dual Catch Cans should come on Wednesday; maybe. Since they are coming UPS lol.
FedEx is better than UPS by far. I had delivery scheduled from...
Ford didn't even have a solution for a few months and then when they did that had to undergo testing and compliance before becoming a release candidate and then they started to push things out.
Software isn't just a "Oh? There is a problem? *snap* push out the software".
Multiple months isn't...
