I don't doubt it! That sounds like a blast!
I'm just really picky with my exhaust sounds. I like loud, but it has to be deep tone, not raspy or rattle/poppy like X pipes and a lot of the resonator delete folks can sound haha.
I like the sound, but will wait to make final judgement in person. I have a feeling ill eventually want a different midpipe (H pipe if it comes with X pipe stock) and different sounding deeper tone active exhaust.
Are you scheduled for September?
I have the same order as you, not yet scheduled. At this point I unless we get scheduled in October, it will be next year/spring for sure.
I've stopped "expecting" it this year at this point 😅
Makes perfect sense. I thought you were implying the Mach 1 WAS Ford Performance and the Dark Horse wasn't for some reason. Thanks for clarifying 👍
The Mach 1, I believe, still had Track Attack, didn't it? Maybe I'm wrong and thinking of the GT350s...
Edit: I think I misread something at some...
Can you clarify this? I may have just been missing this until now, but this is the first I've heard .
What does this mean? Who led this project instead of Ford Performance? Why was this done?
I'm afraid that was self-inflicted then. Since the absolute EARLIEST any of these cars would hit the market was "early summer", that would have meant you got one of the very first units assuming absolutely no delays. But realistically, all the first units (at least several hundred to a couple...
Thanks! I'm not big on YouTubers and I don't have any interest in the Ecoboost so I was not watching to find that information. Was hoping it was readily available somewhere else, and maybe there's no official date yet since even Alex didn't specify beyond "a little bit after" since he's driving...
Yep! I garage my mustangs all winter, except for the rare 60F+ days that tend to hit Indiana winters lol. I also ensure I avoid bad roads/construction as much as humanly possible when I drive them.
Also to be clear, I live in a decent sized city, not county roads. 350,000ish people. Not huge...
What's your order? If Dark Horse, that's very different.
And no, cleanup scheduling is pretty minor to fill extra spots they have for the month.
If yours is not a DH order, it just depends on build allocations your dealership is granted based on volume.
Ah, interesting! I thought dealers got emailed just days before scheduling for the DH. I'll have to ask my dealer if he's heard anything at all yet.
But yeah, makes sense they wouldn't add it for DH given much more limited capacity in general.
Interesting that it says for NP "REMOVE this package if you want your order to be scheduled", but does not say that about Dark Horse HP 🤔
Ah well. My mindset is now that I will get my car next spring, and if it happens before that it will be a nice surprise, but it won't get driven much until...
100% I thought the exact same thing. How naive I was. I thought, I'm literally one of the first orders being put in, I have to be picked and built early, right? 😅
They did say to be prepared to wait 12-14 months even. At this point, next Spring is ok as I wouldn't drive it in the winter anyways.
I will have to live vicariously through you, as my exact same order as yours isn't scheduled yet and with the recent exhausted HP commodity, in guessing not going to be scheduled until October at the earliest...
Only silver linings:
- if we find out 2025 models will have improvements and can roll over into those instead...
- Or at least they can fine tune the production process the more they keep making as well
- and of course, the fewer they make, the more rare and long term valuable they will be
I think the dealer employee is wrong. I've heard they have to go 3 days in a row without defects/issues (or without a certain amount or severity?) to reach OKTB. The majority of those cars are probably defect free, or minor enough to not even be noticable or impact value.
No worries, mate! My dealer has 2 allocations, 2 orders, I'm order #1, still no scheduling yet. It's not every dealer gets 1 then they offer more. It's very much regional and based on dealer volume.
Of the like 3000+ Dark Horse orders, maybe 10-15% have been scheduled so far is my guess.
