  1. [Update: AM is staying!] AM Radio is removed on the 2024 Mustang

Boy, I could comment on that article for hours. This is a technology centric entertainment based argument article with no distinction being made between mode of operation vs. benefit/inherent trade offs of what it is they espouse. Details that are critical are easily being glossed over by the...
  2. [Update: AM is staying!] AM Radio is removed on the 2024 Mustang

The internet is not as resilient as you think it is. Not so much from total failure but more from a performance perspective rather than a trunk line disruption by some government. These station sites CAN be ip interconnected but they don’t HAVE to be. Not surprised, FYI, I am an RF engineer and...
  3. [Update: AM is staying!] AM Radio is removed on the 2024 Mustang

Probably vice versa. The electronics are more likely to affect the AM radio.
  4. [Update: AM is staying!] AM Radio is removed on the 2024 Mustang

Typical. Everything works off the Internet-NOT. AM or more specifically it’s “band”doesn’t need anything but a sweet place to be, a nice big antenna and some power to talk all over the world. No dexters, it doesn’t need the internet. I do it all the time. :giggle:
  5. [Update: AM is staying!] AM Radio is removed on the 2024 Mustang

Technical superiority. It’s engineering. Not everyone is meant to understand.
  6. [Update: AM is staying!] AM Radio is removed on the 2024 Mustang

The AM receiver is uniquely more subject to the introduction of excessive noise from various electronic systems which can render it virtually useless if not mitigated or designed with better filtering. You can bet they cost cut the heck out of AM car radios these days. Just a suspicion given the...
  7. Official ATLAS BLUE Mustang S650 Thread

Okay, It must be the larger windows taking up the difference I’m noticing.
  8. [Update: AM is staying!] AM Radio is removed on the 2024 Mustang

Not if it involves compliance with a federal requirement. Corporate legal decisions and risk management assessments take time.
  9. Tacked-on Infotainment Screens Trend

Edit: 14/26 are on the steering wheel too Now you’ll control everything from a single screen hopefully without atrocious endless menus when needing to find something.
  10. Official ATLAS BLUE Mustang S650 Thread

For the first time I’m able to notice the taller roof and what appears to be bigger windows except the sides which look smaller.
  11. Tacked-on Infotainment Screens Trend

As long as it may take to create a car with the tech you’d like as much as a Mustang. That one’s been taken 50+ years ago. Now get to work… Or maybe it really is the Mach E you’re after. :giggle:
  12. [Update: AM is staying!] AM Radio is removed on the 2024 Mustang

Okay. AM radio actually has qualities that are specific to the frequencies and mode that other broadcast FM cannot match. in the event of a national emergency FM radio stations by nature of the way they operate have to be power restricted for geographic coverage and licensing purposes and the...
  13. Tacked-on Infotainment Screens Trend

Funny thing is, your picture shows it very well. It brings much tech. I get it. But I honestly have NO idea how someone can look at those two pictures and not see the S550 looking way more classy, integrated, cohesive and relevant to what a Mustang should look like.
  14. Tacked-on Infotainment Screens Trend

    They have no idea.
  15. Tacked-on Infotainment Screens Trend

I thought it was going to be taller than it was when I saw it in person at Barrett Jackson. It is very wide and the rest of the dash looks rather stark and empty. What I thought was a little weird was the area behind where the screen ends and some portion of the dash needed to be created to fill...
  16. Tacked-on Infotainment Screens Trend

It’s actually called “driver focused design” vs. “tab splat”.
  17. Ah, this email haunts my inbox again.

The supply chain in the electronics sector (which all modern cars rely heavily on) is an absolute MESS right now and has been since covid. I cannot believe it’s been as bad as it has been, 8 months for parts and limited quantities compared to order quantities. Manufacturers are scrambling and...
  18. Experience with Granger Ford

I think Ford dropped a few of the last run 23 Mach 1’s on a few dealers nationwide. Seems most are limited option cars, (if you can call any Mach 1 limited in options).
