  1. GTD and Shelby at Barrett Jackson

For that kind of money, I’d rather have one of the numerous Shelby GT350’s or preferably Boss 429’s. We saw at least 5 of the latter, which given they only made 1500 or so over the 2 year run, was a pleasant surprise. It was Mustang heaven.
  2. GTD and Shelby at Barrett Jackson

I did register to win the GT. I don’t think a duplicate is possible. No more Dark Matter Grey and no more start/stop delete. I also registered to win the Shelby under wraps that they’re going to unveil at Barrett Jackson.
  3. GTD and Shelby at Barrett Jackson

More beautiful than expected. Not my kind of ride though.
  4. GTD and Shelby at Barrett Jackson

Note, according to Shelby rep I talked to, the one under wrap is an unveiling and contest giveaway.
  5. GTD and Shelby at Barrett Jackson

Hard to tell the color vs. the lighting.
  6. GTD and Shelby at Barrett Jackson

Observations: These are all so much more beautiful in person. The short throw shifter was a huge difference. Shelby rep said it’s a Barton on the MT82.
  7. Oil Change....what?

The manual calls for 5w-30, API SP/ILSAC GF-6A spec oil to among other things reduce the incidence of LSPI. The only official change I know of is Whipple recommends 5w-50. So why 10w-30 with an oil that is higher in Zinc/Phosphorous (which can cause catalytic converter issues) and specifically...
  8. Ford Motor Company Announcement

Before you go does the factory oil fill include XL17?
  9. MT-82 Counter Weight Rattle? Or issue with MGW?

Makes me wonder if your counterweight is about to fail and should/could be repaired or replaced. Any thought about having Ford dealer tech look at. I have my doubts that it’s a common problem and therefore dealer techs would not know. Might be worth contacting Callimer as they probably have way...
  10. S650 Mustang OTA History Thread

I’ve been on 10.1.0 since mid November. Is 10.1.1 a point update to or an either/or upgrade for 10.1.0? I have a Job 1 (November 2023) GT.
  11. Factory Oil Slightly Low?

Promising. It’s not consuming massive amounts of oil. Maybe now just watch it over time to see if it’s consuming a more reasonable amount. Mine went through somewhere around a half quart in its first 4k.
  12. First oil change dealer put wrong engine oil.

Pre-filling may improve the amount of time it takes to build oil pressure. So without a pre-fill, there could be a couple second gap to build oil pressure. Whether or not it helps with BBQ Tick, didn't with mine. I always (for the past 45 years doing oil changes) pre-fill and used 10 qrts (not...
  13. First oil change dealer put wrong engine oil.

Me too, but I wish I would have done one right away and also have them measure soot to see if it may have added suspended carbon above a virgin oil sample. Measuring soot (suspended carbon) is not a common test for gasoline powered vehicles, it’s more available for diesel engines...
  14. First oil change dealer put wrong engine oil.

Sorry I made an error in my response. Meant to state “it’s not ONLY what we get from the factory…”. I forgot the “only”. But on that topic, I am a firm believer that we not only get from the factory the recommended 5w-30 semi synth SN+ Motorcraft, but with an additive/modifier to suppress the...
  15. First oil change dealer put wrong engine oil.

Mostly correct, the older SN (not SN+) was GF-5 whereas the newer SN+ is ILSAC GF-6. Also, it’s not what we get from the factory, but also what we’re supposed to get from anyone servicing the vehicle. My point was the OP only stated viscosity. So I wanted to make its not just viscosity but API...
  16. First oil change dealer put wrong engine oil.

This brings up another issue besides viscosity, the -A oils in the screen capture above are SN oils. The 2024 Mustangs require SN Plus oils to reduce the possibility of Low Speed Pre Ignition “LSPI”. This is probably more common in Ecoboost engines than N/A coyotes. The one approved variance on...
  17. Factory Oil Slightly Low?

Looks good, just keep monitoring for the next few days and few hundred miles to be sure. I think you’re good, time will tell. When mine was new I checked every week then slowed down. It got low by the first 3k, but still above the lower mark.
