Here we go again! It’s been over two years since I ordered my Mustang, it was a horrible experience back then. Was one of the first to order the S650 in my area and man, it was a brutal experience. With the delays, misleading timelines and finally receiving the car with so much damage on it I had to order a replacement. Now my wife has decided to sell her S550 and get the S650. We ordered from the same dealership and they gave us invoice pricing on it, which I appreciate. She opted for GT Premium convertible with performance pack, magneride, AVE, B&O and the 10R80, Adriatic blue with space grey interior. I’m hoping this will be a better experience than before because she is super excited to be getting her first special order car. I definitely will not be following this build as close as I did mine, my wife has already warned me what would happen if I did 🤣🤣

Congratulations. Your wife has great taste. As for the ordering experience I have ordered four Mustangs. The only "negative" experience I had was with a small dealer and it was not really "really" their fault. They ordered so few Mustangs their allocation was low and when they did they assigned higher priority numbers to their orders. It took so long we decided, mutually, to cancel my order and refund my deposit. I went straight to the biggest dewaler in the area and had a new Mustang ordered and delivered in a couple of months. The last two I have ordered were from big dealers with big allocations and both gave my build the highest priority they could. Both my 2024 GT premium convertible and 2026 GT premium convertible were clock work order processes. Got an order number from dealership within 24 hours, a VIN within week then I coud use both to access Ford's Vehicle tracker to follow their builds. Both were scheduled quickly and were built on the date Ford promised. Another factor can be options. If suppliers or Ford run short of a specific option that can delay your build. It dosen't look like your wife has chosen too many options to create a backlog of parts problem, so she should be all right. Long McArthur posts super informative y-tube videos on ordering all Ford products especially Mustangs and often provides up-to-date build order schedulain for Ford products as some variations of the Mustang are scheduled differently than others on their production runs.

You're going to have a much easier time selling that car if you take the side decals and dash decals off.

Yeah, this is true. If it don’t sell it’ll go in for trade. All good either way.

When I ordered mine last year it was fairly smooth. I got my order confirmation and build date within a few days. It was actually build ahead of schedule. The delay came with delivery, which I attributed to the fact it’s a 6 spd. The day the dealer received it there was one person that could drive stick and was able to off load it. From time of order to time I had it was right around 90 days that I was told it would take.

Hopefully she doesn’t experience experience any delays.

I had the same experience with a dealer. They added a stripe up the middle of the car that I didn't order, and I had to start from the beginning two months later with my actual build. They told me they were going to have it built as a manager order (to get it faster, which I think was BS) instead of a regular retail sale, but it took just as long to get to the dealership as the first one. Ford kept sending emails on the progress of both builds, but I was so frustrated by the lack of communication from the dealership that I chose to lose my $500 deposit, and I found a similar car at another dealership, but I still had minor problems with them, too. I did end up getting a B&O, 20" tires, and the premium floor liners (big wow), all of which I didn't have on my original build. Of course, I had to pay a little more, and I didn't get the space gray that I originally ordered, but it was worth giving up for my sanity at that point.

Your wife surely does like her colors! Great choice on the new one.
Pretty sure her theory is if I don’t like the color, I won’t drive the car. She’s been right so far. 😂

I get it man. When they reordered mine they did a “We owe” order on it, meaning that everything from the original car would transfer over to the new car…down payment, monthly payments made, interest rate, etc. The new one arrived in just over two months, but it was a freaking fight to have them honor their we owe order, especially when it came to the interest rate because they had increased. If it weren’t for my friend, a retired Ford executive, they would’ve screwed me over. After he got involved they mysteriously got Ford Credit to match my previous rate. We ordered her car from the same stealership and the same sales manager that was a complete ass towards us on the first car. This time was different, my friend made a phone call ahead of time, we got there, placed the order and was out in five minutes. I’m hoping this experience will be better.

That's very similar to my wife's car, but we didn't get most of those options, just the AVE, 19" polished premium wheels, and mini spare tire. It's got 4400 miles on it and we both love driving it.

Very cool! Can you post a few pics of it outside and some of the interior? The stock photos aren’t great. Thanks!

Yes, here's a couple pics I took last weekend. I don't have any of the interior, but the photos from the website are pretty accurate as far as color of the gray seats and panel inserts.
