Just got my 2024 Mustang GT about a month ago. Noticed a little later that my steering wheel would shake when braking from 55+. Changed out the rotors and brake pads which fixed the steering wheel shake when braking but now facing another issue where the interior will vibrate as well as the rear view mirror when going 75-85+. Took it everywhere including ford (which was no help they said it was my exhaust) and Christian Brothers and they checked tolerances, driveshaft, rotor runout, suspension etc. Christian Brothers and Ford took it for test drives and acknowledged the vibration but everybody is saying that everything is fine but the vibration was not there before I replaced the rotors!!! Need help please I’m losing it. :/

Unfortunately no :( I cleaned everything with a wire brush before installing the rotors and even clamped the new rotor down with lug nuts to make sure it was flush

Had that done too along with road force balance and had them install new wheel weights on them

Are the wheel lugs all torqued properly and in order?

Yea all the lug nuts are torqued to spec, calipers don’t seem seized but I’m wondering if maybe the brake pad is making too much contact with the rotor because the last rotor I had was pretty run down but didn’t have the vibration at high speeds. Maybe the old rotor had some extra room from the pad to move more freely? I don’t know it’s all a big mystery

Used? did you replace the rotors?
Did the car shake from 75-85 at this time as well, or was that smooth?

Changed out the rotors and brake pads which fixed the steering wheel shake when braking but now facing another issue where the interior will vibrate as well as the rear view mirror when going 75-85+. When you say the interior vibrates, is it just that the mirror is buzzy ( a LOT of s650 owners report this, especially handling pack models ), slight vibes in the whole cabin, vibrates enough to be uncomfortable?

I replaced just both front rotors and pads with new ones and bedded them to insure no warping. The car is used with 22k miles. And the car was smooth before replacing the rotors. They’re aftermarket Carquest Premium Painted rotors. 352 mm as is spec on 24 GT with regular brakes (not brembo). And the vibration is felt through the floorboards, doors and less in wheel but still definitely noticeable. I even see the passenger seat vibrating and shaking as well.

Seems to get worse when I let off the accelerator as well.

So the vibration happens when you're on throttle accelerating 85+ or is it more pronounced when you're off throttle decelerating?

Any pulsing in the pedal when brakes are applied?

What about the caliper mounting bracket?

Is there a good amount of brake grease on the caliper guide pins? Do they "float" properly? These only get torqued to about 24 ft pounds very light.

I hate to say it but I think you need to tear one wheel down and check things.

You had warped rotors at 22k miles?

Double ewe.
Tee.
Eff.

So, if we're recapping here:

a while back you had a vibration in the steering wheel only while stopping.
- point of question: did you also feel this in the brake pedal?

You replaced the rotors, the steering wheel vibration is gone, but you now have a perceptible, whole car vibration at 75+mph.

Any chance you have the old rotors?
Any chance you have a square tire setup; can you rotate tires front to back?

There's a high likelihood that either the parts or process of the last change are contributing to the vibration.

Did the wheels in the car picture come with the car? who makes them and what is their condition?
are there more weights on either front wheel than the rest of the wheels?

Have you run an Oasis report on your car?
has it been in a collision?

I’m not sure about the caliper guide pins because it was a brake shop that installed the brake pads I only installed the rotors myself. And it’s more pronounced when I let off the accelerator

If you have the old rotors, refit them and test. If it's good, I'd check the new rotors for runout (although this should show up in pedal pulsation) and out of round. Also balance, but I'm not sure a wheel balancer can do discs.
