If you've spent any time behind the wheel of a 2024+ Mustang with a manual transmission, you've probably noticed the clutch pedal doesn't always provide the most natural or consistent feel. That's because the factory clutch pedal uses an assist spring designed to reduce pedal effort, but it can also create an inconsistent engagement feel that many enthusiasts notice, especially during spirited driving.

That's where the Steeda Clutch Spring Assist (555-7033) comes in.

Rather than eliminating the assist spring altogether, Steeda replaces the factory spring with one that is properly calibrated for a more linear pedal feel. This provides smoother, more predictable clutch engagement while still keeping pedal effort comfortable for everyday driving.

What are the benefits?
  • More consistent clutch engagement
  • Improved pedal feedback
  • Better clutch modulation during launches and shifts
  • Increased confidence during spirited driving
  • Maintains comfortable pedal effort for daily driving
One of the biggest improvements owners notice is the increased ability to feel exactly where the clutch begins to engage. Whether you're driving in traffic, rowing through the gears on a back road, or making quick shifts at the track, the clutch becomes much easier to modulate because the pedal responds more naturally to your input.

Installation is quick, requires no permanent modifications, and can typically be completed in just a few minutes with basic hand tools. It's one of those simple upgrades that can make the manual driving experience feel more connected every time you get behind the wheel.

For those of you already running the Steeda Clutch Spring Assist, what differences did you notice after the install? Was the engagement point easier to find, or did another aspect of the driving experience stand out the most?

I literally have broken vertebrae and burst fractures in my spine, so getting underneath to do this in my S550 was a bit of a challenge. The installation was not (for me) as "quick" and easy as the S650 instructions suggest. Honestly, is the install for the 555-7033 spring as easy as your instructions detail?

It is super easy. However knowing that, I might would suggest have someone help you to make the installation side of things easier for you. Even if it's just help squeezing the clutch pedal in to get the assembly out.

I do need a winter wheel setup for a DH with handling pack. Hoping to find a square solution that will allow me to run 255 maybe up to 275/35R19 (lots of winter tire options in that range). Anyway, I realize this is way off topic--sorry.

A good cheaper option are our 19X10 tridents. Our most popular wheel and tire package is 19X10 in the front and 19X11 in the rear. If you want, I can post a product link for you to take a look at.

I was just looking at your trident line--just didn't know if the offsets would work. Again, I apologize for this hijack, but if you have a link(s), pls post or send to me, thanks.

The front would be a +37 offset and the rear would be a +53 offset. Heres a link to the product page - https://www.steeda.com/steeda-tride...package?utm_source=7G&utm_campaign=zach-wheel
Perfect. Both options leave me with a bunch of tire options. Just gonna see who might have had success with a similar setup.
