I'll send this to the team that worked on the video & supported the build to see if they can chime in with any feedback!

Stay tuned.

Still wildly inconsistent between runs, unless they decided reving a coyote beyond 8k was a bad idea.
Would be interesting to see the valve closing velocity on a GT vs DH vs that modified cam.
Seems to me like ford were cam'd the DH to rev higher than a GT but ran into issues late in the game and capped them the same.
How do you know where the peak is unless you run it up and find out?

Why would those pushing the limits to discover what they are all just stop where Ford stopped?

Maybe we could take that same attitude about spark advance? Air/fuel ratio? Torque limiting settings? Should I go on?

When we did ported heads there was no tuning available and not straight E85 tune. So the only graph we have comparing ported heads verse stock heads was still without tuning, that’s why the numbers were in the 450 range.

Let me know what other questions you have - you can send to [email protected] - I'll route them through our tuning department and then post the here

Thanks. A quick sentence on the video would have avoided us all being confused. I appreciate you taking the time to get the explanation.

I'll talk to our video department about perhaps adding that verbiage in the video.

Best,

TJ

OK, so . . .

  • 2" Kooks headers
  • freer flowing exhaust
  • Cobra Jet intake manifold
  • Boschma dual throttle body adapter
  • Steeda intake tubes (cold air kit)
  • Steeda Adjustable engine mounts
  • GSC camshafts
  • E85 (well, C85)
  • tune

Am I missing anything? Everything else on that engine is as Ford delivered it?

We are currently putting packages together as part of our performance program - at the current time, we don't have a package on the site for this particular one ... but a sales professional can speak to our performance team to replicate a package similar to this

This package is still not being sold?
They never sold a package like this for their S550 build

And if they did everyone would complain how you can go that fast with a Whipple and spend way less

But that's not the point - guys like Steeda and Boschma aren't trying to spend as little as possible, they're trying to push the platform and see what can be done

576 horsepower to the wheels naturally aspirated with just a few things being changed, stock block, internals, and cylinder heads, is pretty amazing.

Apparently, even with the engine mounts lowered, there is still a hood clearance issue with the Cobra Jet manifold and the Boschma adapter. They cracked the throttle body.

They did hit 136 mph, though.

EDIT:
Ok, later, after 9 minutes in, they say that this car does not have the adjustable engine mounts?
