Car is listed at 44, just recently sold my s197 and looking to upgrade to an s650. My concern it is has been listed since August and on the car report it states the transmission was replaced. I spoke with the dealer and they said the transmission wasn’t replaced but it was due to recall 24S36 and the line was replaced. My question do you think the transmission was replaced and they are having a hard time selling it? Just trying to my due diligence before spending that much on a car

Might be the person typing in the information wasn't able to select transmission line replaced from a drop-down or forgot to type in the word "line". Does the dealer have the rest of the service records, or maybe you can get it from CarFax?

Yea that’s a possibility. I did request the service records yesterday and they haven’t gotten back to me yet, and yea I’ll try and see if they can also send a car fax report and compare both of the reports. They did say They went through the service records so hopefully they can send them for peace of mind

the car had a MSRP of $55,335

A car they have not been able to move in months, not a car one buys in the dead of winter, they have not sent it to auction to get it off their books... that tells me something is wrong, and I think it is over priced.

Tell them you want to see the title and when you are looking at it grab the prior owners name and address then call them if possible and get the truth about the car.

It has 2 open recalls, there are 6 service records listed.

It is a Ford CPO car, so that helps with warranty issues if you buy it.

and the car is closer to 45K than 44 plus they are going to bend you over on Doc fees

42K out the door including doc fee is where I would be on that car

I was definitely not planning on spending the full 45 + fees on it was going to negotiate, but yea I definitely feel like something is off. It’s been listed forever and idk if it’s worth my time or just waiting for another one to show up. Problem is I really like the package and only am gonna buy a grabber blue with the nite package just trying to see if I should continue my search

A search shows 2 open recalls - The info displayed shows both recalls are for the BCM water intrusion issue. Appears the first recall was prior to a fix. The same recall showed up about one month later when a fix became available.

I'm baffled as to why the selling Ford Dealer has not addressed and fixed the BCM water intrusion issue prior to listing this Mustang.

Yea I have been doing a lot of further research since I posted. This definitely doesn't make sense to me either. I am going to ask why it hasn't been fixed and if I'm able to get closer to 40-42 otd id be interested, if not I think I will walk and continue looking.

Have them use the VIN to check OASIS and print the warranty history for you. Its against the law, at least in Texas, for them to disclose prior owner info to you.
Based on what I see here, the price is not out of line. We've got a mint '24 Grabber blue base GT with PP wing, GT 500 wheels, aftermarket exhaust, 17K miles and a bunch of underhood dressup items for $40,400. A premium with those miles will bring more.
How do I know this '24 is mint? Because I traded it in last week on a '26 premium in Adriatic Blue! The buyer will get a folder full of receipts and service info as well.

Doesn’t the Ford dealer have to have the recalls complete before selling a vehicle off the lot?

I actually spoke with them this morning, they said it would be fixed before it’s sold. I’m not sure why they are waiting for someone to buy it to fix it seems odd to me

Recalls are required to be done before a new car is sold, but not a used one. I don't understand Ford's reasoning on this, or why a dealer would not do them during a used car inspection, as we get paid for doing them.

Jkay_US Just my two cents. Perhaps you are better served not trying to hard to find a "bargain" and instead just buy a brand new Mustang that suits you? The $5-10K difference over a few years of happy ownership aren't that big a difference. Nothing like a brand new car that comes without worries! Hope you do what is best either way!

I’ve been thinking about giving the same advice. My dealer in Colorado ordered mine and sold at agreed price 4% below invoice.
