addressing bringing a large dog with you, I will tell you that Fido is not going to be happy back there, the back seat is a joke, my 80 pound dog has been in the car exactly once, with the back seat covered with a thick foam rubber pad and blanket and she was really cramped back there.

There is no easy way to get in and out either besides going between the front seats over the console.

I have also found the interior plastic to be very soft, so if your dog has long nails the plastic is not going to hold up well.

The rear seat in the ragtop is fixed, so you can't fold it down and use the back of the seat as a base for a dog bed or other way to make the dog comfortable

Our shop dog goes for coffee runs with us all the time, but we took the rear seat out of the 65 ragtop and built him a very comfortable spot

My dog goes everywhere with me, which is why the Mustang does not get a lot of use, getting her in and out is one issue and her comfort is another

I see you are kind of in the boondocks so it may take some doing to pull this off, especially in the winter but have you considered renting one for the weekend and seeing if it will do what you need it to do?

There are no rear seat delete kits for ragtops that I know about. For fastbacks they are a dime a dozen but the rear seat dimensions in a ragtop are different than a HT and IMHO the rear seat back is bolted in/fixed to be a almost structural member of the car

I'll be ordering a GT Convertible in February of 26 and I'm seeking some input from owners.

Intended use of the car is to enjoy day trips in the ME, NH, & VT countryside when we aren't out with our F150 Lariat PB and TT.

My wife and I are in our mid 60's so we aren't doing anything radical with the car except have her 135 pound lapdog in the back seat.

Let's say Nov thru May the car will be off the road.

Two questions basically:

1) Should I get the BEMBO Brakes?

2) Is the 12 SPKR B&O a waste in a convertible?

Appreciate any and all thoughts.

John
John,

I am 62 and ordered my convertible in May of 24' with delivery in October 24'.
Same intent, but I will drive around the Great Lakes and surrounding states. I ordered a Dark Matter Gray, Performance Package, Premium, Nite Pony and manual transmission. No lap dogs allowed although I came home to a 10 week old yellow lab last night. For the driving that "we"(you and me) are doing the standard GT will be fine since it is a performance car but I chose the PP as a preference, totally up to you. I like music so I went with the 12 spkr system....the car is very quite at 65mph on the expressway with windows up so music is good. I just picked up a 25' Lariat PB last month as well. You go wrong with your individual choice, enjoy the ride. I did put Michelin all season tires on my GT so I can drive below 45 degrees, but not in the snow. Best, Ed

I think you need to test drive several and choose for yourself.
I really like the Magneride and so you have to have PP for that option, and I like the sound of the B&O.

I have a 2024 GT Premium with PP. I too am older and this will likely be my only "performance" car. I will never race it, just enjoy it. For me, not a matter of what I need, it was more what I wanted and thankfully, I have a very supportive wife!

That being said, I LOVE everything about it. I am doing some mods just for fun, upgraded marker lights, put the RTR front end on it, lots of Steeda suspension parts (including the stop the hop kit) all of which just add to the fun. I'm in the Charlotte NC area so we get a pretty long season to enjoy the convertible.

The B&O sound system is really nice and even enjoyable on the highway, open top at 70 ish MPH. Can't speak to the dog issue though.

2024 Mustang GT Ragtop
70 y/o, ordered my 24 GT PP vapor blue, ragtop the day the books opened for ordering, back then. Love it! Highly suggest the 6 piston Brembo’s! I don’t care how fast a car can go, it’s more important to me as to how fast it stops! And these brakes do that job perfectly! The Coyote acceleration is very nice, there are so many idiots on the road, it is really a good feeling to be able to get out of their way and being able to stop when needed. Also, the drift brake is a nice plus, if you want to practice some bootleg or j-turns!
The B&O stereo works for me and I listen to all types of music. Sure there are better, but there are definitely worse.
Enjoy!!!

I have a 2024 GT conv. I ordered it loaded 401A, active exhaust, 10sp etc. I made a big mistake when I didn't order the 3.55 gears for about $1000. My old gt conv had it and was way more responsive. The gas mileage is about the same. Oh well in life there are no do overs.

One day - Ford could put a twin turbo on that ecoboost (The Exploder has a 4 cyl twin turbo that's 400HP) THAT would make the two a lot more competitive and should still cost a lot less. Just sayin'

There is absolutely no meaningful comparison between a 4 cyl. ecoboost and a V-8 Coyote GT . They are not even in the same universe. Get the real deal or wait until you can.

So ... What is the "real deal" more cylinders or more HP ?? LOL LOL
Ps Not everyone needs, cares or wants the "real deal" - Hell, I didn't even know what the "real deal" was until your post - all I wanted was a decent, reliable, American made convertible ....... But now that I know, I'll be more careful next time LOL

......the Mustang "sound" (certainly not that of a 4 cyl.) has been called "the real deal" by car enthusiasts and car magazines since the debut of the 5.0. I wish I could say I made that up but alas I didn't. Just my opinion, but last summer the driver of an ecoboost thought he'd take a run at my GT off a light. I quit to save his engine as it sounded like someone was strangling a squirrel. Not a sound I'd ever care to hear again....and no I can't even lol at that as it was just so sad.

Oh ... so a twin turbo Ecoboost would make the Mustang more competitive, but, it still wouldn't be the "real deal" so why bother? Well .... I appreciate being enlightend today, and don't worry, my street racing days are long past LOL
