Steering gets so stiff can hardly turn the wheel with all my might when suspension is under hard load on track during HPDE events.

Lots of people in the GT500 forums highly recommend them. They seem to have equal levels of grip in my opinion as well as they last longer and the grip stays consistent for much longer and doesn’t fall off like the troffeos do. I couldn’t find 305s as that is what I would run so I have a set of 325s on the back currently and I was concerned they would be too big but they seem to be working great.
The Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3r is the correct tire sorry, Goodyear couldn’t make the names more complicated imošŸ˜‚

WOW, 325???

That is a 12.3" tread width!!!

Got it - I don't know if you can use Tire Rack in Canada, but they have the 305, which has an 11.3" tread width.

That is a 100 tread wear. I bet they grip sticky glue. Now I am curious to find out how long they last for you.

UPDATE: Nevermind, it says they are on backorder. :frown:

They do ship to Canada, though.
Yeah I do have experience with cup 2s non r the goodyears and the pirellis and the goodyears seem to be the best all around tire for great traction they don’t fall off like the cup 2s and the pirellis and the longest life out of those 3 as well.

Yeah she is definitely girthy that’s for sure. And yeah I couldn’t get any before the track days unfortunately and I needed new tires as the fronts were done.

Update. Went to Cota for a two day track event and it seems as if the heavy steering issue is gone. I had changed the Camber plates to the Vorshlag Caster Camber Plates and I think the factory ones may have been the issue. The bearing in the factory ones is nowhere near as smooth and everything is made of rubber, so the conclusion me and my father came to was that under heavy loads and heavy braking especially it would load up the front struts so much that the rubber would all bind up and not allow the strut to pivot the way it is supposed to causing the wheel to basically lock up in a straight position. The Vorshlag ones have a really nice spherical bearing and is all billet so nothing can bind up on itself, this is the only suspension change I made to the car and the issue was gone. If anyone else is experiencing this issue I already Highly recommended the Vorshlags as I have experience with them and they are amazing but it will also fix the issue you are experiencing as it seems some people have also experienced this. Thanks for all the replies I appreciate this community a ton.

Wow. That is weird.

Glad you fixed it.

So how well did the 3R tires work? Were they grippy? To what would compare them? Did they hold up?

I could not find 3R’s for the fronts before the event unfortunately so I still had to run the pirellis but I have had the 3R’s on the rear for two events now and they are probably my favourite tire that I have experienced. My father tried The goodyears, and cup 2s on his GT500 and liked the goodyears better as well. The pirellis are also great but I feel like I am finding them to wear significantly faster than the 3R’s and cup 2s that my brother has on his car

There is a Cup2 R as well, but I do not know anybody who has run it. There are YouTube videos . . .

Treadwear is only 60 !!!
Yeah I have not tried the cup 2 r’s out I may have to give them a try next season.

I just noticed they do not come in our sizes (19)

So I deleted my post (but you quoted it first)

Treadwear is 140, not 60 (oops)

I checked and saw they do have 305/30/19 so you would just do those on all 4 corners

OK, so I re-read this entire thread. You used 325 Goodyear on the rear, which is a 12.3" tread width, 1.3" wider than the wheel.

I was concerned about that, but I am glad to hear that they work well and seem to wear well in spite of the 100 tread wear rating.

The Cup 2 comes in two different flavors, a 240 tread wear and a 180 tread wear (both named the same) and then a third option, the Cup 2 R, which is a 140 tread wear, and a different name with the R after it. So which of the three Cup 2s it is probably matters a lot for grip and how quickly they wear.

This makes me want to buy and install these just so that when I get good enough to run into this issue, or the rubber gets old enough, or some combination of the two, I do not run into this frustrating problem.

My gut told me it could have been mechanical, well done you.
