Yeah I definitely donāt think itās right I would love to be able to find someone else with a dark horse and see if they would let me try it on track and see if it shifts the same or not as well as to see if the steering issue is exclusive to some and not all.For the record, I never had any hard shifting issues on the track with my Tremec. Unless the tranny wasn't warmed up, I'd be a little concerned
No I am two hands on the wheel through every turn. I feel like something either has to be bent or the EPAS is cutting out when overloaded. Nothing else really makes sense. I am still technically kind of new to tracking cars as I only started at the beginning of 2024 summer so I only have two seasons under my belt. But I am in advanced at my most local track as well as intermediate at every other track I have only been to once and will have 22 track days under my belt after COTA this week, so I think I am pushing the car pretty hard. I just did Vorshlag caster camber plates and drilled out the towers as I was still eating up the outside of the tires significantly more than the insides even with the factory camber plates maxed out. Seeing as how this is my last event of the year I am just going to drive it and then after that it will probably go to the dealer to get looked at and hopefully they can solve the issues. Are you steering with one hand in the turn?
How long did the Trofeo RS tires last you? What tires are you running now?No I am two hands on the wheel through every turn. I have gone through 2 sets of fronts and one set of rears the fronts lasted two days each and the rear lasted 4. I switched the rears to goodyear supercar eagle f1s and would have liked to switch the fronts to them as well but nobody could get them in time so I put another set of Trofeos on the fronts. I am going to start the camber at -3 and see how that goes first and if i need more itās very easily adjusted. How long did the Trofeo RS tires last you? What tires are you running now?
What is your camber setting going to be now that you installed the Vorshlag caster camber plates and drilled out the towers?
Well of course I expect tire wear but when I corded the outside of the tires and still had half life on the inside of the tires should I leave it alone? I am just trying to achieve even wear then I could probably make them last 3-4 days instead of 2. As well as getting more contact patch while cornering, if i am using that much more of the outside edge of the tire than the inside then i'm losing āhalfā the gripThis reminds me of the gentleman on this forum who has a Dark Horse and proudly bragged that he took his camber to zero because he didn't want any tire wear.![]()
I got nothing. Lots of people in the GT500 forums highly recommend them. They seem to have equal levels of grip in my opinion as well as they last longer and the grip stays consistent for much longer and doesnāt fall off like the troffeos do. I couldnāt find 305s as that is what I would run so I have a set of 325s on the back currently and I was concerned they would be too big but they seem to be working great.Eagle F1 Supercar 3?
They do not make a 315, so did you put 305s on the rear? Even those have a tread width of 11.6", which is wider than the rear wheels.
The Trofeo RS 315/30, which came on the rear, is 10.5" tread width, more than an inch narrower than the Goodyear's "smaller" 305.
The Goodyear is a 220 treadwear rating, and I know some say that number does not mean anything, but it ought to last longer than the Trofeo RS but probably not grip quite so much.
The Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3r is the correct tire sorry, Goodyear couldnāt make the names more complicated imoOr the GOODYEAR EAGLE F1 SUPERCAR 3R?
Still no 315, but the tread width is not quite as exaggerated, at only 11.3" for the 305 (still 0.8" wider than the Trofeo RS 315), and the tread wear is 100, so very soft and grippy, but probably won't last anywhere near as long.
