Mine really doesn't use that much fuel considering what it is. The lifetime average is 20.7 and that isn't pussy-footing around. Kind of amazing.
Well, I can't claim that. I recently passed 4K, mostly because of my trip to Canada. My average is 17.1 mpg. Glenn

Just hit 4k myself. No trips, just the work commute. But I bought the car to drive it an take advantage of that beautiful engine. I’m sure I could significantly increase that economy on a long enough road trip, but that’s never been my focus.

That said, if you’re worried about fuel economy, the 5.0 probably isn’t the right vehicle for you.

I never said I was concerned about fuel economy? I could care less about how much fuel I use. I was just pointing out what my MPG are. Glenn

Anyone buying a 486 hp car shouldn't worry about fuel or tires. It will be what it will be. Actually, I'm quite amazed at the fuel economy and all car makers put the cheapest tire they can spec on their new cars so don't expect much out of them. When my tires get worn out, I look forward to some spinning around and tire smoke. Not quite sure what I i will get next. I will never race the car or drive it super hard. Just a hard spurt on the interstates now and then. It's seen 150 with no harm done. It was in a place where the po po can't set up a trap. Didn't take long to get there with an A10. Just a few seconds. These 5.0's really like to rev high.

Yea! I've done the same a few times. Burnin' and smokin' used to be easy before shopping malls were open 7 days a week. Finding a lot with no cars and light poles has become more challenging. That is actually how I taught my children how to control a skid. Fresh snow, empty lot, and have at it! Glenn

By the time I had (step) kids they knew everything and there's nothing I could teach them about driving lol.

It's how my dad taught me and how I learnt* myself later on.

*started to learn

I got my car licence within days of turning 15, bike licence soon after. Learnt car control on dirt roads. But the single biggest thing in my driving career was enforcement driver training and years of driving/riding very fast in traffic.
Proper driver training is a must, not just on a track, but in traffic. And it still amazes me that our road "safety" people dismiss training as unimportant. They say it just makes drivers over confident.🤯

That doesn't appear to make any sense whatsoever. Video games probably make more people feel overconfident in rear wheel drive cars on the road... :lying:

Depends on the game. Forza makes driving a RWD car feel incredibly unsafe and difficult when in reality it’s super easy to do.

No, it goes against everything that countries with much better safety records do.
