we have had about 15” of rain in the last 24 hours in Winnipeg…pretty crazy….tried out slippery mode today for the first time …..I am amazed at how it changes all of the pure dynamics of the car….i can feel how it regulated my heavy right foot to disappoint me as it substantially reduces throttle response and really smooths it out..could feel the abs kicking in out back to keep the car in-line as the ford rear end can’t do 100% of the work on it’s own….truly stunned by it!

what a difference 10 years make in tech and how it is applied to an almost 500hp muscle car…not like the good old days of an 87 5litre lx and sandbags in the back lol….I think it’s safe to say you don’t have to throw sandbags in the trunk anymore :)

I have had my Dark Horse premium HP for 21 months with 5600 kilometers and I have never had it in slippery mode. However now I'm intrigued and going to try it next time I go for a drive.

Please do…it will feel like the turbo lag of an 1987 dodge Daytona Shelby lol

Well as I was born in Winnipeg I know how bad the weather and roads were like. Parents were smart enough to move to Vancouver in 1964 then I went back in 84 for two years. All I remember is big mosquitoes in the summer crappy roads always being fixed in the summer and the ladies were very kind and friendly.

lol. Only thing that has changed is more potholes here. I usually get to the west cast about 8x a year on business and to the island as well

Well it was sunny and warm today and just came back from a nice evening drive. If I remember it starts getting wet and cold out your way about now I know your pain.

Additional side note, slipperyode will increase your fuel economy as well. I saw almost 28mpg driving home in the rain from the track attack in slippery mode.

I was wondering if slippery mode would increase MPG. I haven't had chance to try it yet but had a feeling it might do that. I also just tried comfort steering and it helps with the tramlining quite a bit...

That's good to know!

Day four or five after picking up the EcoBoost, I commuted through a mahoosive thunderstorm in the dark and I wasn't used to how the Mustang drove or felt in a lot of standing water (Texas' surface drainage doesn't even try to cope with very heavy rain). Big difference in throttle response and a rush to change up, but the car had ~150 miles at this point and I was very wary not to labor the engine. It was as comfortable as drive as when as a kid your parents tell you that you're in big trouble and you'll find out later how long you're grounded!

The handbook says something along the line of using it on dry roads can cause a vibration, driveline bind up (I'm going to have to Google this one) and excessive tire wear. I figure it locks or near-locks the rear differential so scrubs away when cornering? Or does this mean something else?

Lived in Winnipeg from ‘59-‘65 - in Charleswood, St. James and St Boniface. I remember flat spotted tires and frost heaves in the winter and yes those big skeeters! Assiniboine Park was my favorite place!

Its just depressed pedal demand. You give 50% pedal, you get 25% TB opening...(example)

It rained both days of DH Track Attack for me and I got to use slippery mode for the first time there. Day 2, starting out in the wet was really enlightening. It's impressive how much grip the car has in the wet with smooth(er) throttle, and brake input and how well that intervention integrates into the driving.
