Black Car On What Color Rims?

Hello Mustang Family,

I recently acquired a Mustang GT S650; the car is black, and the rims are silver, with a 20-inch rim size, which is just for extra info.
I am not changing the rims, but rather powder coating the rims to either a black(maybe satin or low gloss) or gold/bronze(satin bronze, brushed bronze, bronze).
I know that the all black "murdered out" look always looks good, but you see it so much. I thought getting gold/bronze rims would make my car stand out more.
If I go with black rims, I don't really need to alter the silver 5.0 side badges, horse in front of the grill, and GT on the back trunk.
If I got with gold/bronze, I would have to black out all those silver items I mentioned in the previous sentence.
This is not a big deal at all, just thought I'd share what's on my mind. I will share some photos, and if you guys need more info, like a video or something, I can also include that.
This is such an easy question, but it's been driving me crazy.
Last thought, I forgot to mention the last choice, which is to just leave them silver.
By the way, all I have done to the car is blackout the taillights.
Anyway, I would appreciate any feedback.

I think maybe you don’t like the style more than the color and don’t realize it? I think these wheels pictured below look much better on the car. I could only find a gray Mustang for an example, but you get the idea.

I admit…I am heavily biased toward this wheel style….

I don’t really mind the style of my current rims, it reminds of muscle car rims that have big spaces from spoke to spoke.
I’ve always been into the murdered out all black look so that’s why black was my first choice, but recently I don’t think the black and silver match is not that bad. Silver rims on black cars gives off a more of luxurious style seen on Benz and Mercedes. Black rims, or a black package usually are more aggressive and are for sports car.
I’ve only seen Subaru rock the gold/bronze rims.
With all that said, I posted a picture of the mustang rims choices from the website.
I have the rims on the top left which are 19 inches opposed to the regular rims, but my favorite style is the rim at the bottom right.

Nobody loves 5 spoke rims more than me…lol. I always wanted Cragars on every car I had.

But I also come to accept what works with the car.

The rims you circled look really nice! My personal preference would be getting those rims you circled in silver. I’m not a fan of black on black on black. I get it, but I like some contrast somewhere.

Now if you still wanted black wheels, you could always add red or blue stripes to break up all that single color.

But hey, you can’t go wrong with anything you choose! These cars are beautiful! Just today, a guy stopped me in the deli parking lot to gush over my car. It was awesome!

Right those rims that circled are also my favorite buck I can’t go back in time, I never preordered the car, just walked in and chose it.
So I’m stuck with these rims.
So if u had my car you u would just leave it the way it is?
If so what would be your next choice.
Can u rank the colors you would pick out of these 3 colors silver, black, or bronze?
Also, I would love to see your car if you want to post a photo.

I think silver on a black car is a bit dated. I do like copper/bronze I had copper facings on black wheels on my last car.

Those arent 20's. Those are the base GT 19's. @Starship Enterprise has the optional 20's pictured above.

I personally think black wheels on a black car look terrible and is a very uninspired look. Wheels make the car, and you need contrast to make them pop.

I personally think you'll be much happier buying a new set of wheels in the style and color you want rather than have those base rims painted.

That's a really good idea, but for now I'm just thinking of powder coating my rims. I don't want to invest in new rims for now.
Can you give me the Amazon/eBay link for your rims? Do you trust them since it's from Amazon and eBay?

I get not wanting to spend extra money for different rims. I think your car really does look just fine the way it is. I’d like to see a full side view if you have one…

If you want to make the most of that open wheel design, paint those calipers red..that would be cool.

If you are determined to change the rims, I admit to being partial to the style I have on my car. It really caught my eye on the lot, but I knew the first thing I’d do is add louvers, get a front splitter, and black out the rear panel and get a black spoiler on the back. I’m extremely happy with what I have now.

No matter what style, I like silver wheels against the black.

I went with gunmetal wheels because I didn’t want the car to look washed out black. I will probably swap to black emblems, but I really like to be able to see the rims so am not a fan of black wheels.
