A 6:48 despite being limited to 160 mph on the straights is an insanely good time. I'll also add because both this and the corvettes were registered as prototype vehicles, this means the supervan technically beat the Corvette in its class, and now holds the record for the fastest prototype vehicle around the 'ring.

This is badass by itself, but the message is pretty clear and it's "We just made something the size and weight of a van do an 6:48 around the 'ring, our engineers are that good, just imagine what the next gen GTD or Ford GT will be capable of".

People seem to forget Ford never stops, the GTD is insanely impressive, the next gen GTD will be even better.

Bricks normally don’t fly unless thrown but that one sure did boogie. 262 (assumed kph) electric slide šŸ‘šŸ»

Bro, it's a van that beat a mid-engine supercar with 1,200 hp, give it some credit lol.
Saying they are in the same class because prototype is just a silly thing to say.

And saying a brick flies faster than a corvette is intriguing

Edit: spellcheck

"Van" body on a race car
But it's still something with the shape and weight of a van, and something that despite having a ton of power, had a severe disadvantage on the straights. Again, just impressive overall.

The learnings from programs like this will influence Ford's future performance cars even though it's highly unlikely we'll ever see a 2,000 hp van sold to consumers šŸ˜‚.

I mean, it's electric so it's not going to be light, but "the weight of a van"? It weighs 600 less lbs than the GTD. 1000lbs less than a Model S Plaid.

And as far as the van body goes, it's fiberglass etc, and it's basically all wings/aero and cooling vents

Well I guess since the GTD can't get it done why not switch to the 2000hp all electric "van".
