Would like to here some opinions on the two cars I'm currently considering -

First is a '24 gt with performance pkg but with passive exhaust - 14k miles $ 48k being sold as certified preowned by ford dealer. second is a gt base 6 speed with active exhaust - 200 miles - 43k being sold as certified preowned by same ford dealer.

I have no problem with the standard 6 speed since I grew up driving several. My concern with the auto is the passive exhaust. I know I can change out the exhaust, but would like
the option of quiet mode the the active exhaust provides in order to stay cool with the neighbors.
I've driven the 6 speed, but haven't had a chance to test drive the auto.

Let me know what you guys think- thanks!

The only reasons here i would say get the auto are
1. You dont want to manually shift all the time
2. The pp has magneride

Otherwise there's nothing the pp does that you can't do on your own down the road

Performance Pack doesn't automatically include magnaride but you need performance pack to have magnaride.

Love your s650 btw. Perhaps my favorite build thus far.

Fair, that was meant to be an "if" the pp has magneride

Also thanks!

Yeah - the auto does has magnaride.
I'd say at the very least test drive the auto to see what you like more. Besides magneride and active valve, everything in the pp can be easily upgraded to.

MagaRide is optional with PP.

Well, we have a whole other thread going right now about manual vs auto. Both have pros and cons and it comes down to driver preference.

To me 48K sounds a little high for a car with 14k miles on it. Does it have magnaride? If that car doesn't have active exhaust, then I assume it's a PP base car.

Do you plan on DDing the car or tracking, or both? To me PP cars aren't worth the expense if you don't plan on tracking it. But if you do plan in tracking the car, then definitely get the PP.

Edit: I see the PP car does have magnaride which explains the price. It's a shame someone ordered that car without active exhaust. šŸ˜•

I guess I’m leaning toward the manual for the price, low miles and active exhaust.
my first mods would be; wheels and tires (staggered) lowering springs and cold air intake. Although that kind of negates the price issue.
Only thing about the manual is it being a pita in traffic.
On the other hand, hard to pass up the PP.
Don’t see why they would option out a car with the PP and not include the active exhaust.

Why a CAI, to look cool? It does nothing for you. Other than take money. Ask the pros.

Yeah it does have magnaride and I don’t see my self tracking the car - mainly a DD.
yeah I don’t understand that setup without active exhaust…

So, there is no performance difference between the base and PP cars other than suspension. Both are equally fast and have the same tune.

If you are daily driving the car, the base will ride more comfortably.

Just so you know, the quiet mode on the active exhaust isn't a ton more quiet on start ups. However changing exhaust modes between normal, sport, and track while driving is a lot of fun. Track mode is pretty loud when you get on it. If you are just cruising and keeping the RPMs low, all modes sound about the same and are reasonably quiet.

I do like the idea of being able to change the exhaust modes.
interesting that the base will ride more comfortably - even with lowering springs?
