Motor Trend ran the Dark Horse automatic at 12.0 as it comes from the factory.

That's awesome (seriously), but you are not running the Ford Performance version (basically stage 1), so it's not really a fair comparison.

I'd bet your tires and so on are completely different, too.

"800hp" but runs the same mph as the 700hp, 500lb heavier Hellcat they tested.

I expected it to go 130 on pump gas

Every U Drag video they’ve posted have proven they do the best they can to get the least out of the dark horse I didn’t bother watching this one, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they STILL refuse to put it in drag mode lol

I'm usually a big fan and supporter of Edmunds. I stopped the video when they mentioned that they bought an automatic for their dark horse? Why would they do such a thing when I was assuming that the manual is the more suitable transmission for this vehicle... Oh boy. Hopefully I didn't make this a manual versus automatic thread...

For whatever it is worth, the automatic is far better for a supercharged 800 horsepower drag race time than the manual transmission.

I almost wonder if something was wrong with the car or the tune or the supercharger installation.

So I went back to watch it again.

Mph was 125.6.

E.t. was 11.6

Those are way off.

In a perfect drag strip run (I know this was on a Trofeo RS tire on some service road, lol) 125.6 mph is a 4000 pound car at 533 wheel horsepower. The e.t. should be 11.4.

533 wheel horsepower means that the supercharger definitely added some power, but not what it should have added. At a minimum, that rating should start with a 7, or at least high six hundreds.

533 indicates maybe barely 600 flywheel horsepower?

Question - how many others are getting similar results but never know because they just pull it out on the roadway and hit the gas, and whoa! Lots more power, tires struggle for traction, hey, supercharging is cool! but never dyno or hit a real dragstrip to see the results.

Does it get faster as the untuned car "learns" the new supercharger?

Any guesses as to why it is indicating barely a 600 horsepower engine, 533 at the wheels?

And what kind of road course is that? No curbs, no area to runoff, concrete walls everywhere like a delayed and overdue interstate highway construction project.
