They were at us, and we were at them. The last raids we did were in Mexico 20s/30s. They put us on Reservations we escaped and went into the mountains of Mexico. They captured our Chief Geronimo, pictured above with male family members, but many of us escaped. Strange this was many of our chiefs and braves served as scouts in the 7th Army, and fought other Apaches. A famous Apache died on Carrizo Canyon when he crashed his Ford Model T. His name was CHAT. They made a movie about him starring Charles Bronson. Many descendants of our Chiefs walk the same land as their they did this very day on our reservation, which is a beautiful country surrounded by four mountains which we walked around as seasons changed when we were nomadic. Can you imagine that, a man who tamed wild Mustang crashed and died in a Ford Model T on Carrizo Canyon Rd. You ever come to America you must visit our Reservation. Our Inn and Casino is world class.

Well, I'll be damned. Watched all those westerns as a kid, never thought I'd exchange communications with a member of Geronimos tribe, or band.
Life is a strange place.
I don't know how many travelling years I have left, but I'll keep that in mind.

Second 4th of July I couldn't go to the Reservation for the daily rodeos, Sunrise Festivals, fireworks etc. Last year we had a horrible fire, and Ruidoso, the Mountain town, was evacuated. All festivities cancelled, and the casino/inn parking lot turned into a aid station for people fleeing the fires. Daughter got a new job so for probation she's lowest on the old Totem Pole, along with my wife. So I just did a little riding to break in my new GT.

My father in law wants the U.S. Air Force plate. He's a retired Captain.

I have the Purple Heart plate PONY on mine.
