Is this from the factory or did the dealer do this?

Just had my DH steering wheel replaced under warranty. Popped the hood when I got home as I was cleaning the car.

Is this electrical tape normal or did they break a tab or something and then tape?

Also, I assume you all have one of those plastic bolts where this hole is?

I dont have electrical tape over mine. I bet they broke the clip. And it does look like the plastic fastener on the battery cover is broken.

The dealer service monkeys were definitely under you hood. 😕

I would at the very least go to the dealer and show these pictures to the service manager.
Just left them a message. I removed the electrical tape and no clips were broken, but you have to put it on in a certain way to get it to clip in. Maybe they just tried once and then taped it.

I have to call them anyway as the replacement steering wheel is messed up. In their defense on this, they left the plastic on it. I removed that when I got home and saw this. Left side looks good, right side, not so much.

I’ll have them order a new wheel and plastic bolt and hopefully this will be the last time I have to take it in.

Oh man. That service department has zero quality control. Sorry about the wheel.

It’s almost like something was laying on it, indented it.
Tough break man.
Sucks how these dealers will waste your time like it’s not worth a shit when you have to bring it back!
They should compensate.

What is even more sad is I took it 65 miles from my house as my buddy is the GM there. I was worried about taking it somewhere where I didn’t know anyone. Lol

When, I see all these stories about dealer service department it makes me happy my dealers service department is great. They have one specific guy who works on my Dark Horse. He installed my Whipple supercharger, Steeda stop the hop kit, jacking rails and DSS rear axles all with no problems or complaints. So I'm happy with their service.

Too bad Canada is a little too far from South Texas!

You’re lucky, that’s like striking gold!
