I ordered an Atlas blue S550 Mustang GT, auto with Magneride on 17 January 2022. After waiting for this car for months, it ended up never being built because they stopped S550 production in preparation for the S650's.

The day after the reveal of the S650 which I watched live via Youtube, I went into the dealer and ordered two cars. They didn't have prices yet, so I ordered a S650 GT and Dark Horse, both with "subject to pricing" in the contracts. This was on 16 September 2022.
By 27 October 2023, I was able to get pricing locked in and I decided to proceed with the Dark Horse order, and cancelled the S650 GT order.
My Dark Horse was built and left the factory (Assembly offline, Gate release) on 27 June 2024.
The car arrived at Baltimore (compound entry) on 11 July 2024.
On 11 September 2024, I had notification from Ford that my car had shipped. It was on the Tysla, and had left Baltimore for Australia. The Tysla docked in Fremantle on 4 November 2024.
My car showed up at the dealer on 12 November 2024.
Unfortunately, I cant take delivery yet seeing my car is caught up in the 24C35 recall which has caused a delivery halt until Ford can fix the car with a software update. I hope and pray this happens sooner than the generic Q1 2025 ETA Ford has given me.

As you can see, I'm probably the most patient but cursed Mustang fan on the planet.

After hearing about the recall, I was so deflated that I didn't even want to see the car. I was worried I might be a little hard on the dealer and I know it really isnt their fault and they want to get the car into my hands almost and much as I do. I would have probably throttled anyone with a Ford logo on their shirt that first day I heard the news.
Luckily that deflated feeling has now passed with my excitement slowly returning. I just went and saw my car for the very first time. Its an emotional experience I have to say. I feel like I've been through so much with this car already, and yet I've only just laid eyes on it now for the very first time.
She's a little dirty and dusty from the trip, but overall she's awesome! Love the color. Love the interior. Love the different gauges. Love the Recaro seats. Love the titanium shift knob. Love the short throws of the Tremec. Love the big black exhaust tips. Love the massive Brembo's. I just love love love this car!

Arranged with MADinc who will pick up the car on a flatbed and start the detailing and PPF process while we wait for this fix. Huge shoutout to those guys. They have been super helpful and so flexible to arrange all of this during the uncertainty of delivery times and delays.

Come on Ford!!!! Get this recall over so I can get my car! So close!

Here it is in all its glory. Fresh from the delivery truck with all the stickers, plastic and shipping blocks in the springs in place.

I've been wondering about the Aussie spec Recaro's ever since I ordered them. When we had to spec our cars, very little was known about even the colors or design of these seats. I've seen very few photos of Aussie cars with these, and I was surprised to see they are indeed electrically adjustable, not manual. The US Recaros are all fully manual. I've now seen it with my own eyes. Our Aussie ones are indeed auto adjustable.

If only they had heating and cooling they would be perfect.

That first look is so exciting....I promise you won't be disappointed when you finally get to drive....fingers crossed it's sorted soon, saw on another thread some cars in the states are getting over air updates...10.1 something i think they said.

Check your intake ducts are lined up with front spoiler, my DS wasn't.

I'm so glad you went and saw the car, see, I told you it would make things better.

I'm just so bummed for you, I feel like we both went through this protracted wait for these cars, then to have yours held back like this, I feel bad as I already have my car and its not on the recall list. One thing I would say, make sure to double check the VIN as some customers ended up with new VIN's.

But, if there is one consolation, great move having the car flat-bedded to the detailer and getting all that sorted before it even hits the road. That right there will be a massive one-up when you finally get behind the wheel. I had to balance my sheer desire to just drive the car over getting through the paint protection before I get too many kms on it.

Thanks @DFB5.0 . Dont feel bad at all for having your car. These are the things life throws at us and we just need to make the most of what we get. You had to deal with a hospital visit and everything that goes with that. At least my issues are just car related, but you are right, we both had a very long wait with many ups and down in between. Such a pity you are so far away. Would have been fun to catch up over a beer and chat and laugh about the journey.

I'm also glad the dealer agreed to let me get the car to MADinc. It feels like I'm wasting less time that way because at least I'm ticking boxes in the meantime while I wait for a fix. The dealer knows me well by now and they were also relieved that they wont be washing it. They know I'm going to break out the detailing light and inspect every inch of that car.
MADinc will also be fitting my Flowdesign brackets. I trust them more than the dealer with that stuff. The dealer also confirmed that the car will get its PD service by their only fully certified Ford master tech, so I feel like I'm in good hands at least with all these things.

Yes, the guys at MADinc are super helpful. They mounted my flow brackets plinth (OEM delete) and the brackets. If only Ford did not make me pay for the vehicle in full, prior to release to MADinc.

I hope you know a good plastic surgeon?
It’s gonna take one to get that smile off your face when you finally get to drive that Pony Home. 🏠 Ford needs to give you some kind of award for being so patient.
I had to wait three months for mine and that was long enough. I can’t imagine waiting over a year. Good luck, 🍀 you’ll love it.

Would you believe me if I told you I've now been back to the dealer 3 times already to see the car?

@bfets refresh my memory the DH doesn't have start/stop eco mode right? Looking at the pictures it doesn't appear to be there.
