I got an update on Monday which is how I found out the ETA had blown out by 5 weeks.

My dealer rep is on leave so I emailed the sales mgr and he sent the latest Vista showing an ETA of 28/1/25. It's been hovering around late Dec since July and now in Nov they smash me with a 5 week delay!

Gave him a bit of a serve but I know it's not their fault its the lazy Yanks screwing me over.

He gave me a FoA number to call but what's the point, it's not gonna get my car here any quicker.

Thats not the best news, although it does not coincide with the Shipping schedule with a next Pt Kembla ETA of 11/01 - then 01/02/25

With that in mind, it probably would not hurt to question FoA, and give some "Feedback", although unless you can speak to someone in a senior position, a waste of time.

That is the guaranteed FoA ""Service Assistant" standard one size-fits-all generic response - unless you demand to speak to the Manager. And what is the Dealer response.......contact FoA.

Will not surprise me epecially if its the same spec as outgoing S550 . Look at it this way guys , if you got the cash you can get >5% at call during the wait so will soften the blow slightly , in fact in real terms make it close to price of 550 . If you got a 550 to trade probably a good idea to list and sell it now and use that 5% at call instead of playing dealer poker with a tradein , there will be a lot of 550's traded i would imagine , making a glut of them in used car market and thats not going to help value . Poker is a cool game, by the way. It has an element of strategy and excitement. It is quite interesting to watch. If you can, you would obviously get a much better Re-Sale price if sold privately rather than Trade-in, and pricing is also highly sensitive and determined largely by how many Klms.

Advisable to always do your research / Homework first.

Now that the dark horses and gts have landed and a few popping up on carsales etc.

Does anyone have any real updates on pricing of the secondary market for gt/dh?

Is the gt likely to follow the normal second hand price drop given the wait times will go down,
No more darkhorses are coming but in the us seem to be struggling to sell, will a retail price of the dark horse now be the lowest price it will ever be?

Some people are having theirs delayed, whereas the ETA for mine went from March 25 to Feb 14 (Valentines Day lol). Dealer doesn't know why, but who cares.

Port Kembla is why i cancelled my Audi S3 order a couple of years back - it was sitting in the ocean for two months still waiting to dock. Nightmare of a place.

Yep, I'm on Tortugas. It's sitting off Caloundra right now.
4 day congestion in port of Brisbane.
It was scheduled to dock Wednesday afternoon. It's still sitting out there.

No, it was because there were hugely strict quarantine cleanings going on due to an outbreak of insect on a lot of ships, coupled with union/employee issues. Otherwise I've never experienced any delay more than a week for all my new cars
