Definitely feel the squeeze from companies right now, but I just put it up to companies taking way too long to come out with stuff. First to market = ability to set price. Once more companies enter the market, the prices should ease up

I'm just had to vent. I'm just irritated at how long it took to come out with parts and how most companies mucked about with cf parts.

Yes, splitters are small thin pieces of plastic and going for $300-600.
They should be like $80-150, if you see eBay/Amazon prices for splitters for other/older models/cars they tend to be around that range. The actual material cost of a long strip of ABS plastic is probably even much less.

Without using names... I just ordered factory mud flaps for the rear (no fronts available) from the only dealer who had them (supposedly) in stock. The freight was $35+ when the true shipping costs are certainly under $10 (USPS). So my take is, the charge is nothing but extra profit, just like those door guards and VINs etched into the glass!

I haven't. It just seems to be the norm with this generation. Feels like they are just sticking any old ridiculous price on things. MP concepts seems to be the only ones with reasonable pricing to the part being offered. That and the long delay in producing anything that wasn't carbon fiber.

or, even better, make the part for yourself, 3D print it, and enjoy! or maybe even sell it yourself and undercut those companies. you can get a lot of 1kg rolls of filament for less than the cost of most of those parts. Bambu Lab has a 1kg roll of Nylon-6 with glass fiber reinforcement for ~$60/kg. tough, UV resistant, 360F before it softens, prints decently fast, and comes in 8 colors. even the insanely strong (for 3D printer filament) PPA-CF, also by Bambu Lab, is ~$200/kg and can replace some types of metal parts

I've thought about it but fdm is slow. I've got to get some scanning marker spray and see how well my idiot of a scanner can do with a cars finish. I have about 40 rolls of petg-cf and f360

you do 3D printing as part of a job? nice, hopefully not with any of those Stratasys scam machines. that company is so anti-competitive that they're suing Bambu Lab (basically patent trolling) because the X1-Carbon and X1-E is encroaching into their monopolized "enterprise" space because of Bambu's great reliability, pricing, and availability of service documentation and parts. up until now, Stratasys was basically untouchable in the enterprise 3D printing space. now Bambu is kicking their ass in 16 colors
