"The supplier of a semiconductor chip on the wiper motorās printed circuit board assembly erroneously used a 32-kilobyte programming equipment setting for the 16-kilobyte chip to be programmed with a mismatched 32-kiloybte algorithm. This erroneous equipment setting may result in the LIN communication issue at cold temperatures."
"Wiper motors that fail the inspection will be replaced with wiper motors containing a semi-conductor chip with a properly configured TRIM value."
"On January 15, 2026, Fordās Flat Rock Assembly Plant (FRAP) Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) resident team identified a report of a 2026 model year Mustang vehicle in the field experiencing a condition in which the front windshield wipers operated only at the high-speed setting."

Does anyone know what they inspect on the wiper motor that results in a pass/fail? Part number, date code or ? The NHTSA report numbers work out to potentially less than 300 vehicles involved so it would seem most vehicles wonāt require repair

I was involved in a fuel pump recall on the S550. By coincidence, I met the mobile technician to clear that recall today, so I asked her about the S650 wiper motor recall.
While she had not done one on the S650 yet, she'd done multiple wiper motor recalls on other models. For every one, it was an inspection of the date code; she'd bounced those against a list Ford provides. If it aligned with the list, the motor was then replaced.
