CTEK MXS 5.0 Battery Charger

The supplied M6 eyelet connectors that come with the MXS 5.0 charger are just perfect for the M6 studs on the Mustang! :like:

Thats awesome but I am here to tell you, that you can still get that annoying message even if you drive it every day like me. This issue is not a faulty battery, as I have been monitoring the voltage, it's that stupid low voltage sensor on the battery, look it up on YouTube for its location. My car has just start to settle down after a low voltage session when I went OS that was the beginning of June. I agree as you point out, keep the battery topped up when away from the car for more than two days and the sensor can't complain. That sensor is very annoying grrrrrrrrrr.

You should easily get two weeks of no driving before receiving the battery preservation notification.

Have you measured the battery's terminal volts with a DMM during the fault condition?
ie; it is a genuine fault condition, or is the sensor itself faulty?

Have you reset the BMS?
There is a procedure in the manual.

And although a battery may float at the correct voltage, a bad battery will not hold a charge.
Whilst waiting for our Aussie cars to arrive, I was reading countless stories here from our Merican friends about electric "faults" that all go back to bad batteries. An early indicator of this would be a reluctance to start.

No driving on the weekend = must drive today!

Purpose of today's drive was to get a new pool light from a pool shop near by.
Boy, doesn't it get busy here around lunchtime.

... I knew the spoiler would come in handy for something! :giggle:

I’m just thankful the vegetable pie tick box wasn’t checked that would be heinous

Driving in Morocco

We were recently tripping around Morocco for 3 weeks.

Whilst we were in Marrakesh, part of that included renting a car for three days so we could get out and do a full-day hike at Monkey Finger Canon at Ait Ouglif.

S650 Mustang What's In ALM's Garage? Route_1200

It's actually well over a 6 hour trip, especially if you get stuck behind trucks, as about 2 hours of this route is passing through the High Atlas mountains.

S650 Mustang What's In ALM's Garage? 20250830_133146_1200

The roads here are in reasonable condition.

Driving skills of locals?
Next question.

It was easiest to rent a car from the airport, as the car rental kiosks in town were unattended and they never answered the phone anyway.

We got "upgraded" from the reserved Dacia Sandero to an Opel Corsa, a small diesel hatchback with manual gearbox.
A lot of the cars here, and Europe for that matter, are manual.

S650 Mustang What's In ALM's Garage? 20250904_193533_1200

The Mustang was the first manual I have driven since selling my 1995 Toyota 4Runner in 2009.
Shifting with the right hand for us Aussies might seem weird, but I quickly got used it in the crazy Marrakesh traffic.

French is a dominant language in Morocco.
Gas Oil 10 is low-sulfur diesel, whilst Sans Plomb is Unleaded 95.

S650 Mustang What's In ALM's Garage? 20250827_120640_1200

Petrol pricing was fairly consistent across the country.

13.04 DH (Moroccan Dirhams) for 95 equates to ~ AUD$2.24 per litre in real terms.
(Our best exchange rate was at ATMs being 5.8:1)

So, fuel is relative expensive over there, which explains the proliferation of small diesel manuals. The same as in Europe.

And no, I didn't fill up with ULP... that photo was taken elsewhere.
In Morocco they have servo attendants, who expect a small tip.
5 or 10DH will do.

This was the smallest servo I have ever see.
Literally road side just near the Blue Gate of the Fes Medina a week earlier.

Back to our road trip out of Marrakesh....
A lot of this 300+km trip had speed limits of 80kmh.
There are lots of Police out, and we encountered 13 roadside check point to/from Ait Ouglif.
It pleasing to see the Police pull over locals, and not just target tourists.
I was concerned about this after watching countless Youtube videos, but it demonstrates if you stick to speed limits and observe the signs, you'll have no problems.
On many occasion the officers would see we were [obviously] not locals and wave us through with a smile.

All sorts of cross traffic to be aware of!

S650 Mustang What's In ALM's Garage? 20250905_093643_1200

One thing that surprised me was the use of Waze.
People were reporting Police etc and it would warn you of the fixed speed cameras.

S650 Mustang What's In ALM's Garage? 20250903_160801_1200

Perhaps it's the tourists that are doing the reporting, and not so much locals.

Anyway, a fun experience, if not slightly nerve racking.
"Character building" I think it's called.

For some reason, black cars are very popular here.
Unfathomable why, because they always look dirty.

And there's lots of cats too.

Oh, this was the method of transport in the Sahara Desert the week before.

Bad suspension, terrible ride quality, sand and dust everywhere, and no A/C! :giggle:

Can't say I've ever used the internal navigation, ever.
Won't miss it.

I don't know how much the subscription is, but I cannot imagine anyone paying for this.
Considering the car has wireless phone connectivity and we have Google Maps and Waze etc on your phone.

Each to their own.

Starting to see more S650's on the road now. Earlier this week, I even spotted another Race Red with the Night Pony Pack parked in someone's driveway. I thought I was the only one in the village................ oh, wait, that's another.................
Same here!

It's taken almost a year to spot another S650 in my local area.
I spied a Grabber Blue GT at my local shopping center 4 days ago.

S650 Mustang What's In ALM's Garage? 20250910_153907_1200

With plates "PONY 001" obviously an enthusiast.
This is first time I have seen a GB Mustang in the flesh, and it certainly catches the eye.

I'm thinking about knocking up a flyer, to place under the wiper if I spot another S650, and alert them to this 7G Forum, especially the Australia sub-Forum. Perhaps A5 sized, and keep a few copies in both cars to hand out.

There hasn't been much new blood here after the first wave, and I hope they're all not on Stupidbook.
(Sorry, I have a very low opinion of FB, and got off that dopey platform 5+ years ago - have never missed it)

I have not once used the navigation system on my FGX Falcon, S550 or S650, I don't even use Apple Car Play. But then I'm not using those cars for long distance traveling.

I'm a bit the opposite, there's a Dark Matte grey GT in my suburb and when I went to my sons Football presentation at school last week there was 2 x S650's and 1 x S550 all parked within a 10m radius.

I'm semi regretting switching from GB to Atlas after making my initial order, still very happy with mine but getting the "what ifs"

Navigation service is $110 dollars, I paid to keep it lol. I still haven't had all the software updates on my mustang, the local ford dealers in Canberra are pretty bad.
