After a two year wait, today was the day! :like:

First time Mustang owner, and only the second time I've driven a Mustang, and that was home.

So happy for you, a well-deserved prize at the end of a long ride.

Still waiting for mine to arrive at the dealer, was docked late last week.

The drive home from the dealer was two days ago, so drive #2 was overdue!

After calling into a local tinter (window tint now booked!) and managed to stall it on the way out .
... hey, that was the first stall, and in my defense, it's been 15 years since my last manual.

I had some trepidation with getting back into a manual, but the MT82-4 and the clutch is great.... very easy to pick up again after a long time between drinks.

I can imagine the auto would go hard with kickdown, but geez the manual is so much FUN!

A drive out to Fernvale, which is NW of Ipswich on the way out to Wivenhoe Dam in a rural setting.
There's a famous bakery here, legendary apparently, which does fantastic cakes and pies, and the coffee is pretty good too.

It's a popular stop.
Saturdays and Sunday are best avoided, if you can do it during the week instead.
The local market runs every Sunday, and becomes even busier.
But when ya gotta go for a drive, ya gotta go!

You don't buy a V8 and worry about fuel economy, but I'm seriously impressed so far.

Prior to this drive I've sat in the car for an hour or so in the garage trying to become familiar with the center screen and the functionality, and programming radio presets.
IIRC two pages worth of presets was the default, but in the GUI I've changed that to three.

It's all very well watching Youtube videos about the screen, but there's quite a learning curve when your in the hot seat.
Just everyday things like getting Waze up and navigating (Waze installed on the phone and via Android Auto), switching from DAB to FM, back to Waze, changing cluster themes, blah blah.

I have no complaints with the wireless charger.
After reading all sorts of complaints, I had low expectations, but it works well!

No glitches with Android Auto, but I haven't tried to stream music off the phone with Waze running concurrently either.
We're spoilt with all the DAB stations available anyway.

It was a great day for a drive too - as long as you got home before the storms rolled through...

I went the other way - tried out a bit of highway driving down to the GC, and then out to Canungra for lunch and around the mountain home. I was really impressed how well the car handled the rougher roads :like:

The only thing that I am having trouble with is the persistent "Keep your hands on the steering wheel" warning that keeps popping up. Is anyone else getting this all the time? Is there a way to turn it off?

Yes, that annoyed me a few times.
Both my hands are on the f##king steering wheel! :curse:

After reading your post, I was just sitting in it for over 30 minutes (it reminds you!) and couldn't find anything in the menus anywhere.

Looks like this was discussed earlier this year.

Turning this rubbish off tomorrow when I'm back in the garage!

Come to think of it, I did have quite a few long stretches of straight road today, but that never correlated at the time, nor had I seen the topic above before.

What about you Mike?
Straight stretches?

How does it feel in 5th? Does it still feel like it wants to pull? Never driven a stang and the ratio's of the Getrag box were/are a bit of a concern. Got the feeling it's essentially a 4 speed box.

Yeah straight stretches, no steering input and with both hands on the wheel. I was wondering if it had sensors at 9&3 (I have a habit of holding the wheel at 10&2), but that didn't change anything - and as mentioned above, it is nothing to do with sensing your hands on the wheel itself.
I tried turning off the Driver Alert setting, but that must just be a fatigue reminder - I'll try the Lane departure warning next - I was considering turning that off on some of the winding sections yesterday anyway.

That tall gearing is a boon for fuel efficiency.

Early on, I stalled my manual S550 a few times, actually it took me a long time to get used to the weird clutch and how it dials up revs for you as the clutch is let out. Once you learn to allow the computer to do the throttle input for you on take off, it becomes much smoother. But then, I've had a manual daily driver since 2010.

If anyone can work this out....let me know, so far it is turn it off on the steering wheel button everytime you drive off, haven't found in the list of menu's, if this is my only complaint with car then so be it 😁

Wow ! absolutely stunning in Oxford White ALM ! If I had to go a MY25 (with no Atlas Blue) Oxford White would have been that colour. Yap your plates are a bit of a give away lol.

Congrats on a well deserved shiny reward for the seemingly endless and often nerve wracking journey to get here - ENJOY !

BTW, you will find a significant but gradual Power increase over the next 6,000 + klms, as the new Coyote "Runs In", and seems seriously underpowered on the first weeks of driving.

My MY21.5 FN GT seemed comparatively gutless compared to my previous FM GT until about 500-800 klms - but now that is reversed!

4th is 1:1 and 5 and 6 are overdrive.
You really need to be doing > 4000 ish RPM for it to pull.
And you'd be well over the speed limit already if that was in 5th gear.

If anyone can work this out....let me know, so far it is turn it off on the steering wheel button everytime you drive off, haven't found in the list of menu's, if this is my only complaint with car then so be it 😁
I spoke to my dealer today, and he says Ford are aware of the "Keep your hands on the steering wheel" warning.
It's also occurring in other Ford vehicles as well, he reports.
He believes an update is coming that will address the hands on steering wheel issue warning.
Not sure of release date or specifics, but something to look forward to. :like:
