I look at the current Mustang and wonder where the weight gain came from because it does not look as heavy as reported.. It is hard to eliminate weight if we do not know why it currently weighs more than expected. From what I hear is it weighs so much because of safety features and the IRS.
It weighs so much because the frame is entirely steel.
Look at the Civic Type R. 3100 lbs with an all-aluminum chassis.
Ford already made the F150 all-aluminum. The mustang deserves to be all-aluminum and in doing so, will shave off several hundred pounds.

I agree. If the S650 doesn't lose some serious weight, I'll look elsewhere

I can personally stand to lose 90lbs. That will help out a lot too.
