Not previously posted here but still interesting and funny...I agree what Thomas' had to say and the goats are hilarious...LOL Too bad the never ran a Challenger WB over their course as it would have beat the 200 lbs heavier over the front ,softer sprung/smaller swaybar Hellcat WB big time ! To include the M2 on the same day would have been great too...Maybe Thomas or James lurk here once in a while and make the wish come true...LOL

I hope Jim Farley watched these videos to know what to do in the near future ;
- 5.8 Liters
- Tremec slightly shorter geared
- lighter chassis , more neutral with better steering (feel , no tramlining with wider front tires)
- no Thorsen to better control slides
- real gauges with center screen and real knobs to push & turn instead of greasy pawprints
- oil coolers to prevent limp mode with track use
- more Mustang 1 retro looking front & lower beltline especially the hood !
That should do it...LOL

Lighter weight is probably the only one you'll get.

Seriously what is your fixation with the 5.8 ? I'm assuming you were referring to the trinity and not the old 351 windsor.
Either way much more torque and power is available with a boosted coyote.
Yes I refer to the 351/5.8...Unfortunately FORD still uses the old modular 4.6 tooling that must be 33 years old now for the Coyote only allowing for 93mm bore max...SC I dont like as it creates up to 150 hp drag...Ponys you have to feed...Expensive even in the US today !

Beyond optimum size per cylinder? I don't know, my 6.4 Hemi seems to do pretty good.

The engine is already beyond optimum size per cylinder.
A 5.8 V10 would just about work, a v12 would be better but it's to big for a V8.
Pushrod engines are finally dead.

Just look what Merc did after they parted ways with chrysler.
They downsized the the 6.2lv8 to 5.5l and then to 4l
With the drop to 4l they increased power significantly whilst mostly maintaining torque. (900nm)

Although they've since turned down the torque (except for brabus tune with 1000nm) they've upped the power another 100+ bhp
They detune because they conclude the. mechanical machinery produces more than required. An inline 4 is ‘better’ than a v4 and inline 6 is better than the v6, and so on and so forth. Power adders do just that. Will a sledge drive a nail?

not sure what most of that refers to? Did you have a 392?
In a car? Like it?

You forgot to mention that 500 cc per cylinder might be the optimum as in power/torque/rev happiness/piston speed when it comes to turbo charged engines but n/a is a completely different story ! I would say the optimum here is somewhere between 700 and 800 cc per cylinder to get the best compromise between hp/torque/lower piston speed for a car that is heavier and revs lower than lets say a 700 ccm per cylinder KTM 1390 Superduke motorcycle engine that makes around 200 hp at 10000 rpm…Also dont forget that pushrod motors like LT1 or 392 make way more power and torque than a 5.0 Coyote between idle and 6000 rpm (especially the 392 that is also geared shorter) and the push rod engines are physically smaller and simpler/cheaper to build ! The is no replacement for displacement unless it has a turbo…LOL

OK, right. I am just happy to drive around and race at an even 500 HP and almost 500 TQ. From what I see in the community these engines should be good for 200k miles reliably.
