Hello all, first mustang and first post. Hoping to get everyone's experience on this.

Car is 2024 Mustang GT Premium coupe (not PP)

I recently installed the Steeda IRS braces on my GT as my first suspension mod and only mod so far. The passenger side went on fine (thanks to an 18mm stubby wrench for the back bolt/nut).

The driver side installed ok but my concern is the clearance of the bar that goes from the side frame to the IRS subframe. The bar that goes in the area where the fuel tank has cutouts for the convertible frame supports. On the passenger side there is probably 1/8" clearance. The driver side, when I shine a light through that area, I can barley see light and a few spots i see no light. A feeler gague tells me those few spots are making very slight contact with the fuel tank.

Is this normal on everyone else's install and I am just overlly worried? Should I remove them? If it's an issue, any fix available?

I added a picture and circled the area in question. This is a random internet photo and not of my car.

Let me run this by our lead tech - this is the first I have heard or seen a clearance issue like you are describing - at the same time, shoot me your contact info in case he needs to follow up with additional questions/photos.

Best,

The reason for the tight clearance on one side is because the subframe is not square in the chassis. It is recommended to have installed the alignment dowels and bushing supports at the same time.

555-4450 will help this.

I assume you recommend removing the braces until the the subframe bushing supports and alignment dowels are installed?

Yes, if the issue is that pronounced, then it may be best to remove them until the subframe is re-aligned (which is something that happens from the factory).

You can send me an email & I will have our sales team work up special pricing as a result of the additional part you need - which was created to help fix this issue.

Best,
