The feature should be on by default. But it can be turned on and off.
In addition to enabling and disabling the feature, the tolerance of that feature can be adjusted.
The owners manual has a section devoted to the feature.
If after reviewing the attached, owners manual and the car and you the feature still isn't working, or not working as expected, take the car to the dealer to discuss; it's still under warranty.
