I got to a point about 8 months ago where I just overlook that stuff as I have learned have zero interest.

Yea, I'll probably just 'ignore' any accounts that post the same exact messages 3+ times in a row. Problem solved.

I'm well aware of that. I ran a popular discussion forum using vBulletin going all the way back to the mid 2000's.

Thanks.

No, no. vBulletin was/is web-based discussion forums. Commercialization of the Interwebz and products like vBulletin is what helped to usher in the end of the (awesome) BBS days ... 😢

My years as a SysOp of a multi-line, FIDO-enabled BBS started back in 1990 and lasted through 1996. I ran T.A.G. BBS software mostly. Ran Maximus on Linux and OS/2 for short while, too.

Np, i go back to the days of ‘The Major BBS’, ‘PCBoard’, and ‘Searchlight’, back when it was a big deal having ‘two’ lines coming into the house, just make sure call waiting wasn’t enabled on the line though.

I ran T.A.G. multi-line under DESQview/MS-DOS, and then Maximus multi-line under Linux. IIRC, I had six or seven phone lines coming to the house during the board's heyday.

I recall that other BBS software, and many more. I don't remember why, but I hated Searchlight. T.A.G. was an offshoot from WWIV.

Remember Computer Shopper (magazine)? That thing was as thick as a phone book!
