I'm having mine put in right now.
At first it looked like even with the extra wiring harness that I bought that the fog lights are not fully independent. But the installer just detmermined that yes they are with I'm installing a separate switch for them. From what I understand, the way it works with that add-on wiring and switch, you have the head lights on off as they are normally and then the fog light switch will turn on the backlight on the fog or the main fog.

I just got the car back. The second pic is the switch (to the right of the factory switch area) my guy added on to control the Fogs totally independently. **If they are left on, they will not shut off automatically. << ONLY b/c they are independent in my config.
If they are set up regularly I'm sure they will go off on their own with the head lights.

Can you have the amber lights whenever you want with that button? Because i the original config will get the amber lights whenever when the headlights are off i think

and if so can you please take a photo at night with the amber lights + headlights on

Yes that switch makes the fogs totally indetependsnt. So pushing it up makes the ack light amber come on. Pushing down makes the main fg come on.
So with this, I can have my headlights on at same time as just the back amber light, without the full fog light on
