Retrofit Illuminated Door Sills 2026

Hi all. Does anyone know if the illuminated door sills are plug and play on 2026 models (Is the plug still there)? Thanks!

Let me just be the first of many to tell you- NO they are not. You can wire them up to the dome or other lighting, but the connectors being there mean absolutely zilch.

trust me we’ve been trying to get these to work for 3 model years now lol.

Yeah, I found it very odd. Even on the S550 GT350, the door sills had the plug but wasn’t connected. I ended up wiring to the passenger kick plate fuse, forget which one, but was pretty easy. I’ll do the same but just haven’t found a good sill plate on the Dark Horse I like and Ford Show Parts doesn’t have anything yet for S650. They are still selling GT350 plates.

@jmatero .... there is a good video on how to wire illuminated plates to the dome light. I think the author said there were two types of illuminated plates that required slightly different wiring but the video was great - there are 4 black wires on the illuminated plates. You run two to a ground and two to the wire (I THINK it was purple with a gray stripe) for the dome light. Regardless the video was great and it worked. There are several videos, on one the author shows that on his first attempt he wired the plates to the wrong power wire wire and then shows the correction he made. I had illuminated plates on my 2024 GT and now ugly plastic plates on my 2026 GT. I am going to order illuminated plates for a 2024 GT and wire them up when I get time. For 2024 GT 401-A package I believe all come with illuminated sill plates and you can change them to 28 different colors.
I believe the 2024 model year GT, Dark Horse , etc. has advantages over the 2026 Model Year Mustangs ?

@IFFV68 ..... yes, my 2024 GT Premium converitble came with illuminated sill plates on my 2026 GT Premium convertible the sill plates are basic plastic. I like my 2026 better. I can add illuminated sill plates and charge my phone with a cable, so I don't miss the charging pad.
