Rear Camera Recall - Unable to collect car

Hi

I was hoping to collect my new S650 this weekend but been told it’s on hold due to a recall for the rear camera and I was wondering if anyone else had the same issue and how long it took to resolve?

I called Ford and they said my car isn't effected, its a 24 GT Performance Pack and I thought all 24 Mustangs were effected?

Apparently just certain build dates
Mines a GT comes with the performance pack as standard here in the UK I believe

Waiting to hear Back from the dealer now but gutted so hopefully they can sort pretty quickly

The frustration is I would happily take the car with no rear camera but the dealer can’t release it until recall is done

How frustrating! Unless the fault is that the camera comes on whilst you're travelling forward, which might be confusing and distracting, I can't think how it could be serious enough to warrant being a safety issue.

All drivers should be capable of reversing without a camera.

They are not even able to tell me when I can collect it either

In the US the reverse camera has to be working for legal safety reasons. I didn't think that was the case in the UK???

It is frustrating as I suspect it is all working fine but just awaiting a software update.

Apparently they can’t sell any car that has an outstanding recall hopefully they can swap me to another car so going to head to dealer today to see what they can do

Yes, mine told me it had updated exactly that yesterday

I had no idea it was happening until it popped up to say it had finished.
