Will installing it make the clutch effort lighter, or heavier?

It will be heavier but feel more linear when depressing
How would it be heavier? The stock spring is 120in-lbs, and the Steeda is 30 in-lbs.

The rating is how much assistance the spring provides.

I didn't notice a large change in effort either way. But I did change mine within a week of owning the car. I was still adjusting things, getting used the car and breaking the drivetrain in.

I found the stock assembly to be a absolute, on/off affair: either the clutch was engaged, or not.

With the Steeda spring: smooth, consistent and predicable engagement.

A different generation of car, but ^ these threads highlight others' experiences.

I give the spring :thumbsup::thumbsup:
