Does anyone think that the Paddle Shifter function of the Automatic Transmission should be moved to the Shift Lever? I hate the moronic steering wheel shifter and half the time I forget which is which, leading to some really unique gear changes. Am I alone in this? Thank You. "Semper Fi"

Works the same as the paddle shifters on my Porsche 911. I don't see a need for change.

Do you mean like the NASCAR Cup cars? I could get on board with that.

@Trella ..... I hear you. The first day I had my new 2024 GT I pulled an amazing downshift on a 4 laner thinking I was tugging on the windshield wioer washer function. Shifet down to 3rd at 120 kph. Engine roared and scared tghe c rap out of me and the guy who was passing. I still have to be careful.

We should have both. That's the industry norm on everything from decade+ old Camrys to Dodge Challengers and Chevy Camaros.

Ford is just trying to save money with one less set of switches. They even omit the paddle shifters from all base Ecoboosts since 2022, whilst Corollas and other econo cars/SUVs still get them :curse:

And even the paddle shifters, out of Camry, Challenger, Camaro, Ford's paddles feel and look the worst.

I've owned 1/2 dozen cars in the last decade that have had paddle shifters and they are all located in the same poasition behind the steering wheel - downshift paddle on the left, upshift on the right. (Even my Lexus with a CVT has paddle shifters - Duh) I never give a second thought to their use - give it some time, maybe you'll get more comfortable with them.

My 2016 GTI had it on the shifter and the steering wheel. Paddle shifters are IMO 1000x better than using the auto shift lever. Though the GTI was a dual clutch and the paddles did wonders to show off just how fast it shifted. Clicking a paddle was far quicker than pulling the shifter back or forward.

I can see the want to have both, but if it were to be one or the other, paddles will always be better IMO.

The C6 lets you shift up or down with each paddle. I wish we had that.
