Hello. I am close to retirement and finally get a Mustang. I would like to get a few mods such as exhaust, maybe some bracing, even potentially some rtr body mods. As I am brand new to this how do I go about it. I live in Michigan 20 minutes from Ford headquarters and close to Roush. Does the dealer do the work? I unfortunately do not have the knowledge base to do this kind of work, nurse and healthcare all my life. I see the companies out their like steeda. Do i transport my car to them? I hope this makes sense. I am not sure who to trust and who does good work. These are noob questions I know lol. Thank you for your patience in advance! I have a 2024 grabber blue mustang gt PP, active exhaust, magneride with nite pony package.

Hello, @Daydream. I have the same options as you and live in roughly the same area- I'll spare you the grief of going through my experience with engineering, racing and mustangs in particular. I could help you with some references if you could send me an itemized list of things you want done.

This is a general thread I started some time ago documenting the history of my vehicle from pick up to modifications:
JediMindTrix’s Black S650 Mustang GT (delivered) | Mustang7G - 2024+ S650 Mustang Forum (Hybrid, GT, EcoBoost, GT350, GT500, Bullitt, Mach 1)

Thank you! I am going through the threads now.! She looks and sound beautiful! I guess the first couple of things I would look to do would be the exhaust and lowering springs. What about the warranty? I think our cars were in the same batch. Mine was completed on 8/16 ( my birthday) and it came into the dealer i think the 21st. I was out of town so I had to wait to pick it up until the following week.

Two ways, find a shop near you that can sell the parts to you and install them. Or what a lot of people do is buy the parts themselves from online vendors and take it to a local shop to do the install. For example, we could sell you an AWE exhaust and have it shipped to your local muffler shop, dealer, or performance shop for them to do the install. Some people like avoiding dealerships because of the high costs.

Thank you for the response Josh. I guess the next thing would be to find a reputable place to work on it. JedimindTrix I believe is going to give me some suggestions. I am just starting this and am looking forward to having a car that I can have mods on. I also am looking forward to having a. Few track days eventually.

Don't stress to much about the warranty, most parts come with their own warranties if they fail, the car itself having a part won't void the warranty. It's on the manufacturer to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that damage was caused by the part, otherwise they have to honor the warranty.

Let us know if we can be of any assistance.

New wheels/tires can be done at like a local American Tire Depot or whatever big chain you have around you.

Exhausts are pretty straight forward. Intakes can be done at home with some beers and patience..

You could check with Mike Rey at Gorno Ford. He is their "performance specialist" (and president of Mustang Owners Club of SouthEast Michigan - check out MOCSEM.com). He has relationships with Roush, RTR, etc. and I know that he has ordered cars for people that were modified before delivery at the dealership. I'm sure that Mike could make arrangements for you.
