Mbrp X pipe to Steeda H pipe help

I’m switching from a Mbrp x pipe to a Steeda H pipe. The problem I’m having is the x pipe fits of the existing exhaust pipe and the Steeda fits next to it so I need to cut more off the oem pipe to get it to fit. My question is could I cut the inch and half off the H pipe so I could swap back to the X pipe if I wanted or would it cause problems. Please help
