So…..embarrassingly enough, I found on issue with the lower trunk lid lining up against the upper trunk lid where the two pieces come together much later after I bought the car. It was in such a weird spot that I just didn’t notice it as it had been locked up for the winter until a few weeks ago. Right before the Ceramic Coat job, I noticed this plastic stuff that I couldn’t get out easily. Dealership wouldn’t help cuz they said it had been 6 months since I bought the car. Auto body shops wanted too much $$ to remove it, so I took matters into my own hands and after removing a bunch of bolts and partially removing/separating the trunk lid, I was able to get it out. It looks like some plastic coating that wasn’t completely removed during the painting process.
