I want to lower my car and will be purchasing lower springs and camber plates. I am on the fence of tackling this installation myself or paying a shop to do the install. I will also be adding Steeda's subframe alignment and support kit while installing the rear springs. What price range are you guys seeing for spring install and alignment or are you guys performing the install yourself? Links below to the parts I will be purchasing.

Steeda 555 4450 Mustang Subframe Alignment and Support kit (15-24)

Steeda 555 8242 Mustang MagneRide Sport Progressive Lowering Springs (15-24)

Steeda 555-8139 Mustang Camber Plates All (15-24)

I've been calling around, and have been quoted

Place 1:
$1,500 to install lowering springs, and an H-pipe, alignment included

Place 2:
$1,450 to install lowering springs, and H-pipe, alignment not included

Place 3:
$1,600 for lowering springs, alignment included, and they forgot to add the H pipe to my quote

This is insane right? Reading the forums (on mustang6g, given there should be some inflation sure), this seems crazy, and on top of that it's apparently a 2-3 day process.

Did your quotes include the cost of the lowering springs or with you providing?

I only got one quote so far and it was $1,500 for the install and alignment. They never clarified if that was with me providing the parts, but I assume it is.

I’m tempted to do it myself, but I’m sure it’s worse than it seems when you watch install videos.

It depends on your mechanical skill level as well as required tools. Its not that hard if you take your time. If you have a friend that can help. Sometimes two brains can be better than one. Maybe go to some car meets and ask around for someone that you could pay to help that is more familiar with the job. All the shops are going to seem expensive but overhead today is just nuts.
