Hi all, I notice some cable hanging a bit low and catching my toe above my dead pedal. Curious if others experience this, is this to be expected and if anyone has tucked it away successfully.

What do you have plugged into your Data link connector (DLC). That is not factory whatever it is.

I have some loose cabling above my dead petal on my 24' ecoboost. I've never stuck my head in to look at it however. I'll take a pick later.

This is a new car. Totally as I received it. Oh. But dealer claims to have added =Guidepoint tracking system as part of their security package.

What did they charge for this "security" system? I can track the location of my car through the My Ford app so to me this seems a little silly and useless considering that it is built into the car at the OEM level. First thing a car thief would be doing is unplugging that and throwing it out of the window. Fleet car or company car it makes a little bit of sense, but personal use not so much.

Exactly what I thought. This is more for fleet cars or rentals.

Dealers of new vehicles, used cars especially, will install these trackers for repo activities.

If you are making payments on the car, it's for their benefit, not yours. Even after completing payments and owning the car outright, I doubt the dealer calls the service as a courtesy and has them remove it from their subscription.

If they sold it to you as a feature, while you might have access, I'd always be concerned who else does.

These devices can sometimes interfere with the car's electronics; it's plugged into the vehicle's data bus. They're not always installed well.

While it doesn't require any immediate attention, I'd look into having it removed. I would not return to that dealer, but look into maybe an audio/video shop, someone good with wiring. Sometimes, they can simply be unplugged. It depends.

If you're paying any kind of subscription for this service, look into cancelling that.

Nope, I would be the new owner of that dealership. That would be known as an illegal monitoring device that I didn't consent to being placed in my vehicle.
